Before accessing the monitoring report, it is necessary for application administrator and service administrator to complete the initialization settings.
In settings, you can configure the scan scope to select which tenants’ Azure resources will be monitored. You can also determine the snapshot frequency and manage notifications.
Go to Microsoft Azure (Preview) > Configuration management > Settings and refer to the following sections for the available settings and instructions on the management.
In Scope, you can select which tenants' Azure resources to monitor for changes and permission analysis from the dropdown list. And the snapshots for changes will be created based on the tenants you selected.
*Note: To authenticate and retrieve your Microsoft Azure resources, you must create the required app profiles in AvePoint Online Services, and grant the app a reader role. Refer to the table in Create App Profile for the app requirements and follow the instructions in to grant the app sufficient permission.
In Frequency, you can configure the job frequency for updating the permission analysis reports in Permission analysis module and the snapshot generations in Configuration management module for your Microsoft Azure resources.
The snapshot will be taken to monitor and report changes. By default, the snapshot will be automatically stored for a duration of 12 months. Once the first snapshot is created, any changes will be automatically tracked, including permission changes and security-related settings changes.
In Notification, you can configure whether to send notification when new changes in your Azure resources are detected.
To send notifications, select the Alert when new changes are detected checkbox, and select recipients for these notifications. The recipients can only view the detailed changes report of data to which they have been granted permissions. For details, refer to Permissions.
If selected, email notifications will be sent when the scan job finished and changes detected in Azure resources compared to the baseline snapshot.
*Note: The first snapshot will be set as the baseline by default. You can reset the baseline in Snapshot details page.
