Manage Resource Inventory of Individual Tenants

Click a tenant name on the Azure security management page to access the Inventory page to monitor the Azure resources in the tenant and perform backup and restore operations to help protect the resources.

The Inventory page provides an organized overview of resources within a tenant, grouping them into separate tabs based on resource type. You can easily navigate between these tabs to view specific categories of resources. Clicking a resource name allows you to view its basic information.

Back Up Resources

In Elements, you can enable the backup service to protect Azure virtual machines, Azure blobs, and Azure file shares.

*Note: To back up Azure blobs and Azure file shares, make sure the Public network access and Allow storge account key access settings for the storage account are enabled.

If the storage type of the tenant’s Azure security management subscription is BYOS, you need to configure the storage profiles for each resource type before backups. Click Configure storage profile. In the prompted window, select the storage profile you want to use for storing the data in different regions, and click Save. If the storage type for this tenant is changed, you also need to manually select the new storage profiles.

Enable Backup

To enable backups for resources, select the resources, click Backup, and select Back up from the drop-down list. In the Back up window, you can do the following:

- Check and select a desired storage profile if no storage profile has been configured. - Select when do you want to run the backup job: wait for the next scheduled job to run or run the backup job now.

For resources with backup enabled, you can also select the resources, click Backup, and select Back up from the drop-down list. In the confirmation window, click Run now to run a backup job immediately.

Disable Backup

To enable backups for resources, select the resources, click Backup, and select Disable backup from the drop-down list. In the confirmation window, click Confirm to disable the backup for the resources. Note that once backup is disabled, the next time you enable backup for the resources, a full backup job will be performed.

Restore Resources

You can restore Azure virtual machines, Azure blobs, and Azure file shares to a specific date that has been backed up.

To restore specific resources, refer to the following steps:

  1. On the Inventory page, select the resources you want to restore, and click Restore.

  2. In the Restore to a specific date window, click the date that you want to use in the calendar and click Continue. If all backups for a specific date fail, that date will be grayed out and unavailable for selection.

  3. Enable the toggle (Button: Toggle) button next to the backup jobs to define the data recovery point on the selected date, then click Review restore.

  4. After checking the information of the resource, select it and click Restore to run the restore job.

If any resources have been deleted and they’re no longer visible on the Inventory page in Elements, you can directly click the Restore button to perform a restore based on a job that has backed up the resources. In the calendar, locate a backup job, select the resources you want to restore, and click Restore to run the restore job.
