    Create an Approval Process

Refer to the following steps to create an approval process:

    1. Complete the following information:

      • Approval process name – Enter a name for this approval process.

      • Description – Enter an optional description.

    2. Click the Add (Button: Add.) button to add a stage for the approval process.

    3. In the right section, configure the following settings for approval:

      1. Approver – Select a user, or security group as the approver, or configure dynamic rules.

        • User – Enter the email address of an MSP account as the approver to select a desired user. If you are creating an approval process for a specific tenant, you can also select the Microsoft 365 user type and then enter the email address of a user. Multiple users can be configured here.

        • Security group – If you are creating a global approval process, enter security group names, and separate them with a semicolon (;). If you are creating an approval process for a specific tenant, select the desired security groups from the drop-down list.

        • Dynamic rule – Select a condition and enter a value for the rule. If you want to add more than one rule, click Add rule to add more rules.

      2. Approval type – When any of the approvers in the current stage approves the request, the current stage of the request will be approved.

      3. Notification – Select the corresponding checkboxes to enable email notifications to the requester about request updates and enable email notifications to approvers to process the request.

*Note: If the Elements portal URL is customized, when approvers want to process the request via email, the page may not be accessed.

      4. Reject the request if it is not approved in {number} days – Enter an integer in the text box. If the request is not processed within the configured number of days, the request will be automatically rejected.

      5. Click Save to save the current stage.

You can click the Add (Button: Add.) button to add more stages, or click the links to edit the settings of an existing stage. To delete a stage, click the Delete (Button: Delete) button in the upper-right corner.

    4. After you finish, click Create. The approval process will be created.

You can also click Save draft to save the configured approval process as a draft.
