Microsoft CSP

NOTE

Integration with Microsoft CSP marketplace is currently in preview mode, and we are continuously working on enhancing this feature.

The following procedures can help you smoothly integrate Elements with the Microsoft CSP marketplace:

  1. Add a reseller from the Microsoft CSP marketplace to manage customers' tenants within Elements. For details, refer to Manage Resellers.

  2. Add a Tenant to the Microsoft CSP module for the customer you want to manage.

  3. Connect the customer tenant in Elements to the Microsoft CSP marketplace. For details, refer to Connect a Tenant to Microsoft CSP.

  4. Once a tenant is connected to Microsoft CSP, you can view the click the tenant name to manage licenses for the tenants. For details, refer to Manage Subscriptions and Licenses for a Tenant.

Manage Resellers

To manage customers’ tenants in the Microsoft CSP marketplace within Elements, the reseller of customers’ needs to be configured in Elements. To manage resellers in the Microsoft CSP marketplace, click View details on the Resellers tile. On the Resellers page, you can perform the following actions:

  • Add reseller – To add a reseller from Microsoft CSP to Elements, refer to Add a Reseller.

  • Edit reseller – To edit the information of an existing reseller, select the reseller and click Edit. For details, refer to Add a Reseller.

  • Delete reseller – To delete an existing reseller that is not connected to the marketplace, select the reseller and click Delete. Click OK in the confirmation window.

  • View and edit reseller details – To edit the basics and customize prices for licenses of a reseller, click the reseller's display name to access the reseller details page. For details, refer to View and Edit Reseller Details.

Add a Reseller

Before you add a new reseller to Elements, refer to the instructions below to prepare an app for authentication:

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Partner Center and go to the dashboard.

  2. Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner and select Account settings.

  3. Click App management in the left navigation.

  4. Register a Web App.

  5. Create an application secret key.

  6. Save the App ID and application secret key.

  7. Open the Azure portal.

  8. Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > App registrations.

  9. Click the All applications tab and select the new app.

  10. Click the Authentication tab and update the Web > Redirect URIs. Enter the URL of the Elements environment based on your scenario and add the suffix /app/MicrosoftCspAuthenticationCallback. For example: https://partner.avepointonlineservices.com/app/MicrosoftCspAuthenticationCallback

  11. Save the changes.

When the app is ready, refer to the following steps to add a new reseller in the Microsoft CSP marketplace to Elements:

  1. On the Resellers page, click Add reseller in the upper-right corner.

  2. Complete the following information about the reseller:

    • Display Name – Enter a display name for the reseller.

    • Domain – Enter the domain of the reseller from the drop-down list.

    • Application ID – Enter the application ID of the app registered in Microsoft Partner Portal for authentication.

    • Application secret – Enter application secret of the app.

  3. Click Save to add the reseller.

  4. After adding the reseller, you need to select the reseller and click Authorize to authorize the app.

  5. Sign in with the Global Administrator account of the reseller tenant and authorize the app.

View and Edit Reseller Details

On the Reseller details page, the basic information of the reseller is displayed under the Basics tab. To update the display name, domain, application ID, and application secret of the reseller, hover your mouse over the corresponding fields and click the edit pencil button.

For a reseller that has not been authorized, click Authorize in the upper-right corner to authorize the reseller. If the reseller is authorized or the token has been revoked, you can click Re-authorize to re-authorize the reseller. Sign in with the Global Administrator account of the reseller tenant to authorize.

Add a Tenant

If an existing customer has tenants that are managed in the Microsoft CSP marketplace, you can add those tenants to the Microsoft CSP module in Elements.

Refer to the following steps to add a new tenant of an existing customer to the Microsoft CSP module in Elements:

  1. On the Marketplace > Microsoft CSP page, click Add tenant in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select a customer in Elements from the drop-down list, and then click Continue.

  3. Select a tenant of the customer.

    If there are no available tenants for the customer, you can click Add new tenant. For detailed instructions on how to add a tenant, refer to Add a Microsoft 365 Tenant.

  4. If the APElements Security and Analysis app for the tenant has already been consented, a green checkmark icon will appear. Click Save to add the tenant.

  5. If the APElements Security and Analysis app for the tenant needs to be consented, complete the following steps:

    1. Click Authenticate.

    2. The permissions required for this app are displayed. Review the permissions and click Accept.

    3. A page appears indicating that the app was authorized. Close this page, and you will be redirected back to the Add tenant panel.

    4. Click OK to add the tenant.

Disconnect a Tenant

You can disconnect tenants from Elements. To disconnect a tenant, select the tenant, click Disconnect tenant. A window appears asking for your confirmation. Enter Yes in the text box and click Disconnect to confirm your operation.

Connect a Tenant to Microsoft CSP

To manage licenses for a marketplace, you need to connect the tenants in Elements to the marketplace. After adding a tenant in Elements, refer to the following steps to connect the tenant to Microsoft CSP:

  1. Select the tenant and click Connect to Microsoft CSP.

  2. In the Connect to Microsoft CSP window, select a reseller from the Reseller drop-down list, and then select a customer in Microsoft CSP to map to the tenant.

  3. Click Save to connect the tenant to Microsoft CSP.

Once a tenant is connected, you can also edit the connection by selecting the tenant and clicking Edit connection.

If you no longer need to manage a tenant, you can disconnect it from Microsoft CSP. Select the tenant and click Disconnect from Microsoft CSP. In the confirmation window, click OK.

Manage Subscriptions and Licenses for a Tenant

After you access a tenant, you can view and manage the customers’ subscriptions and licenses under these tabs: Subscriptions, Orders, and Audit logs.

From the left navigation, you can also access the License change requests page to manage all license change requests of the tenant.

If you want to enable approval processes, auto-purchase, or auto-decrease for the licenses, go to Tenant settings > Licenses. Refer to Licenses for details.

Subscriptions

After purchasing a subscription, you can view your current subscriptions under the Subscriptions tab.

For each plan, you can adjust its quantity, and click Apply changes on the top to save and apply the changes.

Click the name of a subscription to go to the Subscription details page.

  • Basics – The basic information of the subscription is retrieved from Microsoft CSP and displayed. You can also edit the quantity, billing frequency, and configure if auto renewal is enabled for the subscription. The following actions may be available based on different subscription status:

    • Suspend subscription – For an active subscription, you can click Suspend subscription in the upper-right corner to suspend it.

    • Reactivate subscription – For a suspended subscription, you can click Reactivate subscription in the upper-right corner to reactivate it.

    • Cancel subscription – If any subscription is suspended and has reached the end date, you can click Cancel subscription in the upper-right corner to cancel it.

    • View parent subscription – For a pending subscription, you can click View parent subscription to view its parent.

  • Refund options – The refund options are listed.

  • Audit logs – All actions performed to the current subscription within Elements are listed in the table. You can click Refresh to view the latest records.

Orders

You can view all orders of the current tenant.

Click the ID link of an order to view its details.

  • Basics – The basic information of the order.

  • Order items – The order items are listed with detailed information.

Audit Logs

All actions performed for this tenant of the current marketplace are listed in the table. You can click Refresh to view the latest records.
