General Updates

  • The Cosmos DB and Azure PostgreSQL modules are now supported in the Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS service.

  • Changing passwords in My profile now requires MFA verification for local users with MFA enabled.

  • Currency settings are now available, allowing you to set a default currency and choose to manually configure exchange rates or enable auto-update to automatically apply the latest market rates for your default currency.

  • Public Preview: HR integration is now available, allowing you to seamlessly sync user accounts from your external HR system to Elements for centralized management.

What's New in Azure Security Management?

  • You can now centrally create and manage cloud posture risk policies across multiple tenants by grouping rules into a single policy and assigning it to resources for more consistent and efficient security management.

  • Inventory now supports additional resource types and displays richer Azure details. It also includes a refreshed layout across key tabs (Basics, Identity access, Security graph, Issues) and provides direct visibility into Azure audit logs for easier review and investigation.

  • Azure security management now includes vulnerability detection to help identify software risks across the environment. You can view detected vulnerabilities, assess severity at a glance, and take action with guided remediation to strengthen your security posture.

  • Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) now uses a workload based licensing model. Partners can assign CSPM coverage by workload, manage enablement per resource, and clearly track usage across tenants for more flexible and transparent security management.

What’s New in Baseline Management?

  • Baseline management now includes a dedicated Policy vault accessible from the side navigation. This enables you to manage drift detection and auto-alignment using the following configurable policies, providing greater control and consistency across baseline management.

    • Drift alignment scope policy – Defines the monitor scope for drift detection and the auto-alignment scope for converting configuration changes. 

    • Drift alignment alert policy – Defines the drift detection frequency and workflows for drift notification.

    • Placeholder policy – Replaces baseline property values with custom values defined in the policy.

  • Baseline comparisons now supports similarity-based matching to accurately monitor customer tenant drift when baselines are not deployed. Configurations are matched by name first, and then by similarity percentage, reducing false deviations and improving comparison clarity.

  • You now have greater flexibility when creating baselines. Instead of automatically copying all configurations from a source tenant, you can choose only the specific configurations you want to include.

What’s New in Workspace Management?

  • You can now choose to follow the storage optimization discovery scope or use an archive profile as the data scope to archive or destroy objects within workspaces.

  • You can now configure a schedule to run scheduled archive or destroy data jobs for workspaces, and remove the schedule as needed later.

  • You can now restore archived objects at the workspace level.

  • The manage data secure posture feature has moved from private preview to general availability.

  • For customers with the Trial subscription for Workspace management - Storage optimization, you can archive up to 5 sites with a total data limit of 5 GB.

What’s New in User Management?

  • Elements now provides a unified subscription report across all managed tenants, letting you view the total number of licenses in a single location and export detailed, multi-sheet Excel reports categorized by license type, making it easy to track usage and manage subscriptions at scale.

  • Two new columns have been added to the Subscription management page: Suspended, which indicates the number of suspended licenses, and Expiring in 30 days, which shows the number of licenses that will expire in 30 days.

  • New MFA authentication methods are now available for user management: FIDO2 security key, Windows Hello Business, and Temporary Access Pass.

  • The new display name format feature enables automatic and consistent formatting of user, group, and mailbox display names based on your rules in AD naming profiles.

  • Improvements have been made to the analytics report:

    • You can now mark frequently failed sign-ins as known so they’re excluded from the report for the next 7 days.

    • For access from unmanaged devices, two new columns Operating system and Web browser have been added to provide more detailed insights.

  • A new Room lists tab is now available in the Mailboxes category, enabling you to easily create and manage room lists.

  • A Data protection card is now available in Tenant settings > Settings, providing the option to anonymize sensitive information. When enabled, sensitive information in the Risks tab of risky users and Security analytics report will be anonymized, and users with the proper key can de-anonymize this information as needed.

  • A Delete permanently button is now available in the Deleted users tab, allowing for the immediate and irreversible removal of user accounts.

  • The SharePoint tab now displays libraries, enabling you to manage user permissions for individual libraries directly and efficiently without leaving the interface.

What’s New in Device Management?

  • Apps of the following types can now be created and managed via the Device management service: Android store app, iOS store app, Managed Google Play app, Microsoft 365 Apps for Windows 10 and later, iOS/iPadOS web clip, Built-In app, and Android Enterprise system app.

  • App management is now available across tenants. MSPs can manage applications created from app package files, add a set of apps to a template and apply it to multiple tenants, and streamline app operations through a centralized app center, app collections, and process center.

  • File hub is now available for MSPs to create and manage packages with the ability to maintain the latest version of an app package file at any time.
