What are RLS files?

Row level security models are for when you want people to only see certain information in the same reports depending on their role for example: Sites they own, communities they own, or people in the same department as them. For more details, see How to Deploy a Row Level Security Report.

What are Live Connected files?

Live Connected is for when you want to create your own custom layouts. You can download the live connected model, connect it to your existing semantic model in the Power BI service then edit securely without downloading all the data down to your local computer. For more details, see How to Deploy Live Connected Reports.

What are PBIX files?

The PBIX models are generally not to be used, instead we recommend installing using the template app.

If your organization has governance policies that do not permit you to create workspaces you can upload this model to an existing workspace then connect it to the AvePoint Portal instead.

This model does not include security roles to make sharing easier. If you need to limit data so users only see certain information depending on who they are, see our row level security guide. Users with this model can view all data for all people, sites, communities etc. regardless of their actual permissions.
