    Automate App Creation in Microsoft Entra ID

    You can select the setup mode while creating your app profiles. If you want AvePoint Online Services to automatically create the apps in your Microsoft Entra ID, choose the app types and Modern mode when creating app profiles in AvePoint Online Services. For details on creating app profiles, see Create an App Profile.

    • App profile for tyGraph Suite – Once you create an app profile for tyGraph Suite in AvePoint Online Services, the AvePoint tyGraph app will be automatically set up in your Microsoft Entra ID.

    • App profile for tyGraph for Viva Engage – Once you create a tyGraph for Viva Engage app profile in AvePoint Online Services, the AvePoint tyGraph for Viva Engage app will be automatically created in your Microsoft Entra ID.

    • App profile for tyGraph for SharePoint – Once you create a tyGraph for SharePoint app profile in AvePoint Online Services, the AvePoint tyGraph for SharePoint app will be automatically created in your Microsoft Entra ID. With this app installed, you can view data from both SharePoint and Pages in the SharePoint report.

    • App profile for Copilot Adoption – Once you create a tyGraph for Copilot Adoption/ Trials app profile in AvePoint Online Services, the AvePoint tyGraph for Copilot Adoption app will be automatically created in your Microsoft Entra ID.

    • App profile for tyGraph Pages (only) – Once you create a tyGraph Pages (only) app profile in AvePoint Online services, the AvePoint tyGraph for Pages (only) app will be automatically created in your Microsoft Entra ID. This app is intended for users with access to the legacy tyGraph Pages report. Users can view the Pages data in the SharePoint report.

    Note the following:

    • The Microsoft 365 account used to consent to the app must have the Global Administrator role, which is a requirement from Microsoft. For details about this role, refer to the Microsoft article About Microsoft 365 admin roles.

    • Ensure the authentication user of the tyGraph for Viva Engage app must have permanent Viva Engage Verified Administrator privileges. The Viva Engage Verified Administrator role cannot be revoked from the user who consents to the delegated Yammer permissions.

    NOTE

    When you start a trial for tyGraph, you can use the tyGraph Suite app or tyGraph for Copilot Adoption / Trials app registration to retrieve your report data. Only Pulse data for the last 30 days and Copilot adoption data (ensure your organization is registered in Benchmarking) will be collected. For other modules, data collection will not begin during the trial, and you can only view the sample data.

    If you have Opt-out of SharePoint File Activity Reporting, you can use the AvePoint tyGraph for Pages (only) app to authorize a reduced permission set. To view the API permissions, you need to accept when you authorize the apps, refer to tyGraph in the AvePoint Online Services user guide.
