    Merge/Copy SharePoint Online Objects

Refer to the following steps to merge or copy SharePoint Online site collections/subsites/lists/libraries/folders/files among tenants.

*Note: The unique IDs of lists/libraries/folders/files copied to the destination will be different from those in the source.

    1. Click Explorer under Aviator in the left pane.

    2. Click the SharePoint Online tab.

    3. Select the tenant from which you want to merge or copy SharePoint Online objects.

*Note: To load the tenant, the tenant connection must have been created in AvePoint Online Services.

    4. Select a connection of the tenant from the Connection drop-down list to load SharePoint Online objects.

    5. *Note: A scan job must have been run in AvePoint Online Services to scan objects to containers.

    6. Select one or multiple source SharePoint Online objects to be merged or copied. You can search site collections by entering site collection name or URL in the search box or filtering site collections via the site template by clicking Filter. In each site collection, you can search objects in the site collection by entering the keyword of the object name in the search box.

    7. *Note: Except for the file level, you can select up to five objects of the same level at a time.

*Note: To load SharePoint Online objects in the selected tenant, a scan job must have been run in AvePoint Online Services to scan objects to containers.

      • If you want to merge or copy at the site collection level, directly select your target site collection. All objects in the site collection will be selected automatically. If you want to merge or copy the site collection and some objects in the site collection, deselect the object that do not need to be copied.

      • If you want to only merge or copy objects in a site collection, expand the site collection and select your target objects. To copy or merge objects in a library or list, click the library or list, the objects in the library or list will be displayed in a panel, and then select your target objects in the panel.

      • Make sure the site collection is deselected.

To clear the selection of objects, click the selected objects button in front of Filter.

    8. Click the corresponding button based on the selected object type to copy or merge objects.

      • Copy objects – New objects will be created in the destination using the source object names/URLs.

      • Merge objects – Source objects will be merged to the defined destination.

If the destination has existing objects with the same name/URL, you can modify the object names/URLs in the pop-up window or remove the source object from your selection.

    9. Select a source connection as the authentication method. If you want to create a new connection, click the Add (Button: Add button.) button.

      • After an Aviator job is finished as scheduled, if you configure a new start date and time for the job, the subsequent job will only migrate newly created or modified content in source objects since the last migration, and error and warning objects in previous migrations to the destination.

      • Run on a recurring schedule – This job will migrate newly created or modified content in source objects since the last migration, and error and warning objects in previous migrations to the destination.
