#Configure Unique ID Settings

In this section, you can define a unique ID column name and a prefix for the unique ID column value.

Refer to the following steps to configure the unique ID settings for items/documents in lists/libraries:

1. Click Unique ID settings.

2. Column name – Define a name for the unique ID column.

   • For lists, AvePoint Opus will create a column with the defined name to display the unique ID of each item. The unique ID column name can be updated later. The modification will also take effect on the already added unique ID columns.

   • For libraries, AvePoint Opus will activate the Document ID Service feature and use the SharePoint Online auto-generated Document ID column to display the unique ID of each document. This column name cannot be changed.

3. Unique ID prefix – Enter a prefix, for example, Ave**Point. The prefix combined with a ten-digit number that starts with 0000000001 will be generated for each classified document/item, for example, AvePoint-0000000001.

   Note the following:

   • The unique ID prefix can be updated. The updated prefix will not take effect on the already assigned unique ID numbers.

   • For SharePoint Online libraries, you can set a prefix after the Document ID Service feature is enabled in SharePoint Online. You can choose to overwrite the prefix configured in SharePoint Online.

4. Click Save to save the configured unique ID settings.
