    Manage Restore Settings

If you want to allow Microsoft 365 users to restore the archived content through ReCenter, turn on the Allow users to restore the archived data through ReCenter toggle. For each service listed below, you need to define how Microsoft 365 users can restore the archived content, and then select an option to define the scope of Microsoft 365 users who can perform the operation.

Additional notes for restoring stub files:

    - Permission requirements: for the stub file remaining in its original location, the user who attempts to restore it must have the **Read** permission to the stub file itself; for the stub file moved to a new location, the user who attempts to restore it must have the **Read** permission to the destination site collection where the stub file is now located. - Long path restriction: SharePoint Online and OneDrive enforces a 400-character limit for the full file path, including the site URL, folder structure, and file name (including extension). Besides, individual file name (including extension) is restricted to 256 characters. It is recommended to use short and concise file names and minimize folder nesting to prevent errors caused by exceeding these limits.

In addition, you can choose whether to allow restoring sharing links for the content by selecting or deselecting the Include sharing link checkbox.

The Enable stub restoration to other locations setting allows you to control whether users can restore stub files to other locations, instead of their original locations. You can also specify whether they can select from existing stub locations or manually input a stub location.

*Note: In ReCenter, if a Microsoft 365 user opts to restore a stub file to another location by manually inputting a stub location, ensure the full path to the stub file is provided.
