Download this articleOpus has adopted Microsoft 365 retention labels with record functionality to replace the legacy In-Place Records Management feature. For records that were previously declared under the legacy system, Opus allows you to migrate them by applying a records label that locks the content for compliance and retention, effectively replacing the old declaration method.
This migration process is irreversible. Before proceeding, ensure that the correct records label is selected and that you have verified its scope and settings.
Refer to the following steps to migrate legacy declared records:
Select a sites container node that contains the legacy declared records you want to migrate.
Click the More actions button and then select Migrate declared records.
In the pop-up window, the Records label for locking documents/items field is pre-filled with the records label currently configured in General settings. For more information, refer to Configure General Settings.
You may change the records label as needed. Note that only one records label exists in the Opus system, so any change you made here will also update the records label on the General settings page.
Click Migrate.
On the confirmation dialog, click OK to proceed.
A Migrate declared records job starts. Go to Job monitor to track its progress and review job details. After the job completes, check the details for any errors encountered during migration.
