Home > Get Started > Manage App Profiles for tyGraph
Export to PDFTo use tyGraph, you must first create app profiles in AvePoint Online Services. These app profiles enable tyGraph to connect with your Microsoft 365 tenant, Microsoft Entra ID, Viva Engage, or Copilot. For details, refer to the scenarios below:
You can select the setup mode while creating your app profiles. If you want AvePoint Online Services to automatically create the apps in your Microsoft Entra ID, choose the app types and Modern mode when creating app profiles in AvePoint Online Services. For details on creating app profiles, see Create an App Profile.

Note the following:
The table below lists the app profiles required for different reporting data analytics:
| Report | Required App Type |
|---|---|
| Calling | tyGraph Suite |
| OneDrive | tyGraph Suite |
| Pulse | tyGraph Suite |
| SharePoint (Pages data included) | tyGraph Suite / tyGraph for SharePoint |
| Teams | tyGraph Suite |
| Viva Engage | tyGraph Suite / tyGraph for Viva Engage |
| Copilot adoption | tyGraph Suite / tyGraph for Copilot Adoption / Trials |
*Note: When you start a trial for tyGraph, you can use the tyGraph Suite app or tyGraph for Copilot Adoption / Trials app registration to retrieve your report data. Only Pulse data for the last 30 days and Copilot adoption data (ensure your organization is registered in Benchmarking) will be collected. For other modules, data collection will not begin during the trial, and you can only view the sample data.
If you have Opt-out of SharePoint File Activity Reporting, you can use the AvePoint tyGraph for Pages (only) app to authorize a reduced permission set. To view the API permissions you need to accept when you authorize the apps, refer to tyGraph in the AvePoint Online Services user guide.
A custom app can replace the automatically created apps. If you want to manually create an app in your Microsoft Entra ID, refer to the API permissions listed in the table below to add permissions requested by AvePoint tyGraph features to the custom app.
For details on how to create an app in your Microsoft Entra ID, see Create Custom Apps. When the app is in place, create an app profile in AvePoint Online Services and choose the Custom mode. For detailed instructions, refer to Create an App Profile.
According to the features you want to use and the permissions you have granted to the custom app, select the Azure app, Azure app with delegated permissions, or Viva Engage. Refer to Permissions for App Authorization to add the required API permissions to your custom app.

*Note: To consent to the Azure app with delegated permissions used by tyGraph for Viva Engage, the Microsoft 365 account must have Viva Engage Verified Administrator privileges. The Viva Engage Verified Administrator role cannot be revoked from the user who consents to the delegated Yammer permissions.
