#Configure Policies

A policy is an organization-wide set of rules and standards for governing Microsoft 365 workspaces (SharePoint site collections, Microsoft 365 Groups, Microsoft Teams, or Viva Engage communities) or Microsoft 365 users. Policies can be applied to services to enable the automatic provisioning of workspaces and users. This allows for greater efficiency in provisioning workspaces and users as identical Microsoft 365 and AvePoint Cloud Management operations can be carried out and repeated by AvePoint Cloud Governance rather than by an administrator. This also helps reduce human error since a correctly set policy will apply the same settings to all services associated with that policy.

To create or manage policies, click Policy in the Request Management group within Settings. Then, refer to the instructions in the following sections to configure the policies:

• Group/Team Policy

• Community Policy

• Site Collection Policy
