Election Tasks

    An election task is generated when the IT administrator starts an election process for a site collection or when the primary or secondary site collection contact is deactivated.

    Election tasks vary with different situations. Refer to the table below for the details.

    After you click Confirm Both Contacts in the View Details window. The Specify Contact window appears.

    • Primary Site Collection Contact – You are set as the default user for the primary contact.

      • If you confirm to be the new primary contact, go to select a secondary contact.

      • If you are not willing to be the primary contact, enter the name of a user who should be the new primary contact. You can also send an email to notify this new primary contact. Select the Notify the primary contact when the site collection is assigned checkbox and select an email template from the drop-down list.

    • Secondary Site Collection Contact

      • If you confirm to be the new primary contact or you are no longer the secondary contact, enter the name of a user who should be the new secondary contact. You can also send an email to notify this new secondary contact. Select the Notify the secondary contact when the site collection is assigned checkbox and select an email template from the drop-down list.

      • If you are still the secondary contact, leave this field blank.

    Click Submit to submit your changes.
