Home > What Can I Do as a Site Collection Contact or Administrator? > Manage Site Collection Metadata Recertification Tasks
Export to PDFWhen your administrator enables metadata recertification for your site collection and selects you as the assignee, a metadata recertification task will be generated and assigned to you. This task contains the searched metadata of this site collection. You can then modify the metadata within the task, and the metadata changes will be updated to Microsoft 365.
On the Home page, navigate to the Confirmations section in your To-do list. The metadata recertification tasks that need your review are displayed. You can filter the tasks by Due date or Created date. Locate a site collection metadata recertification task and click the view button to view details in a panel.
Click Certify on the ribbon. The current metadata applied to the site collection is displayed. Review the metadata values to check if they are still correct. If necessary, you can update the metadata values.
You will be able to add metadata or delete metadata if your administrator allows you to do so.
Add new metadata – Click Add new metadata on the ribbon, select metadata in the panel, and then click Add.
Delete – Locate a metadata field and click Delete.
You may need to reset the changes. Click Reset on the ribbon to select Reset my changes or Reset all changes.
Reset my changes – Any changes you've made to this task will be cleared. The task will be reset to the state when it is assigned to you.
Reset all changes – Any previous changes that have been made to this task will be cleared. The task will be reset to its initial state when it was originally generated.
When you finish, you can choose from the following actions:
Click Submit to submit your changes.
Click Reject to finish the task without making any changes.
Click Reassign to reassign the task to another approver if your administrator allows you to do so.
