Confirm Governance Details for Microsoft 365 Groups or Microsoft Teams

    Your organization may have Microsoft 365 Groups and Microsoft Teams that are not created via AvePoint Cloud Governance requests. For these groups and teams, they can be imported into AvePoint Cloud Governance so that they can be managed by AvePoint Cloud Governance.

    When a group or team is imported into AvePoint Cloud Governance via the automatic import process, and you are designated as the primary contact, you are responsible for confirming governance details for the group or team.

    1. You can view the Confirm Governance Details task in the following areas:

      • In the new MyHub experience > Tasks and to-dos, click Start task to access the task landing page.

      • In the legacy MyHub experience, you can find the task using one of the following methods, and click Confirm governance details or Confirm details on the ribbon to start the task:

        • Click Workspaces in the left pane. Locate a group or team with the Action pending column value of Confirm governance details. Click the group or team name to view the details in the panel.

        • On the Home page, navigate to the Confirmations section in your To-do list. The groups or teams that need your confirmation are displayed. You can filter the tasks by Due date or Created date. Locate a group or team and click the view button to view the details in the panel.

        • In the My tasks report, you can filter the tasks by Status, Task type, Due date, etc. Then, locate a task that needs your confirmation and click the summary to view the task details in the panel.

    Your confirm governance details task experience may vary depending on your IT administrator’s configurations:

    If you are directed to one of the following pages when you confirm the governance details of a Microsoft 365 Group, follow the instructions in the Microsoft 365 Group Overview and Confirm Microsoft 365 Group Governance Details sections to confirm the governance details.

    • New landing page – If you see intake questions at the bottom of the page, you are on the new landing page.

      NOTE

      When there are no available intake questions, the Confirm governance details button is displayed in the lower-right corner of the page.

    • Classic landing page – If you see the Confirm governance details button in the upper-right corner, you are on the classic landing page.

    If you are directed to one of the following pages when you confirm the governance details of a team, follow the instructions in the Team Overview and Confirm Team Governance Details sections to confirm the governance details.

    • New landing page – If you see intake questions at the bottom of the page, you are on the new landing page.

      NOTE

      When there are no available intake questions, the Confirm governance details button is displayed in the lower-right corner of the page.

    • Classic landing page – If you see the Confirm governance details button in the upper-right corner, you are on the classic landing page.

    If you are directed to the Confirm governance details page, complete the following settings:

    1. Notes – Read the notes from your administrator.

    2. Primary contact confirmation – Identify if you are the primary contact for the group or team.

      • If you choose Yes, I’m the primary contact, continue with the settings below.

      • If you choose No, but I know who is the primary contact, enter the name of the correct contact. After you reassign the task, you’ll no longer see the confirm governance details task.

      • If you choose No, and I don’t know who is the primary contact, the group or team will be assigned to the administrator contact of the automatic import process.

    3. Basic information – Enter the name of a user as the Secondary contact. Select a Policy for the group or team.

    4. Metadata – If there is metadata applied to the group or team, enter or select metadata values.

    5. When you finish, click Submit.
