    Azure PostgreSQL

    To protect your Azure PostgreSQL using AvePoint Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS, follow these steps:

    1. Connect your tenant.

      • If you want to protect your Microsoft Entra tenant via AvePoint services, your tenant owner or service administrators must first connect the tenant to AvePoint Online Services. See Connect Your Tenants to AvePoint Online Services for details.

    2. Configure the app profile.

      • Set up the app profile for the app required to protect Azure PostgreSQL servers. Use your Microsoft 365 Global Admin Account to consent to the application. See Create an App Profile and Grant Consent for details.

    3. Add to subscription and grant role.

    4. Create a role using the Microsoft Entra ID object identifier.

    5. Create the backup scope.

      • Navigate to the Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS > Backup page and create a backup scope for Azure PostgreSQL. Define the protected servers, configure the backup start time, and ensure the data retention policy and backup schedule meet your organization's needs. See Create a New Backup Scope for Azure PostgreSQLfor details.

        NOTE

        With a trial subscription, you can only have one backup scope and protect up to 5 servers.

    6. Monitor and manage backups.

      • Regularly monitor the backup status and ensure that backups are running as scheduled. See Monitor Your Backup for details.

      • Use the Backup Analysis report to monitor your backup statistics. See View Backup Analysis Report for details.

    7. Test restores.

      • Periodically test the restore process to ensure that you can recover data quickly and accurately.
