#Create a Role Using the Microsoft Entra ID Object Identifier

To enable the restore service for Azure PostgreSQL, you must create a role using the Microsoft Entra ID object identifier to authenticate the PostgreSQL server instance.

Follow the steps below to create a role using the Microsoft Entra ID object identifier:

1. Sign in to the Azure portal, select the instance of Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server that you want to enable for Microsoft Entra ID.

2. Navigate to Security > Authentication. Choose PostgreSQL and Microsoft Entra authentication as the authentication method.

3. In the Microsoft Entra administrators field, click Add Microsoft Entra administrators, then select AvePoint Online Services - Delegated App to add it as an administrator.

   

4. Click Save.
