#Restore Folders/Files

To restore folders/files in Amazon S3 buckets, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Restore page and click the Amazon S3 tile.

2. In the Restore wizard, the calendar displays the data recovery points of Amazon S3 buckets by default. You choose whether to display the jobs finished with exceptions in the calendar by selecting the Include jobs with only partial backup data option.

3. Hover over the data recovery point to view the job details, including the job status, job start time, scope name, scope ID, job ID, backup size, and the number of objects in a backup.

4. Click the data recovery point that you want to use in the calendar. The objects backed up in the selected backup job are displayed in the table.

5. You can use the Region filter to find the specific buckets or use the Search box to search for buckets via keywords in the name.

6. Click the bucket to drill down to the folders/files that you want to restore, select the object, and click Restore.

7. Select the folder or file that you want to restore and click Restore.

8. In the Restore options step, choose where you would like to restore the data, select Skip or Overwrite as the resolution if a conflict occurs during the restore, choose the mode you want to use to run the restore job, and then provide an optional description for further reference. If you choose to use the CAP Gateway mode, select a gateway from the drop-down list.

   • Where would you like to restore the data? - You can choose to restore the data to the original location or to a new location.

     • Restore the data to the original location - To restore the data to its original location, you must note that the folder/file in the original location will be overwritten.

     • Restore the data to another location - Follow the steps below to configure the destination settings for the target object in the Destination step.

       • AWS account - Select an account for the target folder/file.

       • Bucket - Select a bucket for the target folder/file.

       • Folder - Click Browse to select the destination folder.

   • How would you like to handle conflicts? - Select Overwrite or Skip as the conflict resolution. If a conflict occurs, Overwrite is to remove the conflicting data from the destination and restore the backup data. Skip is to skip the restore of the backup data and keep the destination data intact.

9. Click Next.

10. Review the restore settings in the Overview step and click Restore to run the restore job.
