    AvePoint Cloud Governance Versions: Insider and Production

    There are two versions of AvePoint Cloud Governance: one for preview features and one for generally available features.

    The Insider version was created for users who want to see and test new product features before they are generally available in your production tenant. If you would like to join the AvePoint Cloud Governance Insider program, contact your AvePoint account manager to purchase the subscription. When you are ready to access the AvePoint Cloud Governance Insider environment, make sure you have a non-production Microsoft 365 tenant, and use this test tenant in the Insider environment.

    The production version has two environments: an environment for commercial use and an environment available on Microsoft’s Cloud Platform for the U.S. Government.

    All versions and environments are covered in this guide. The table below lists the differences.

    • If your organization is using the Microsoft 365 Government GCC High environment, some AvePoint Cloud Governance features are not available for you and your business users. For more details, refer to Appendix L - Unavailable Cloud Governance Features for Microsoft 365 Government GCC High Users.

    • If your organization is using the Microsoft 365 Government GCC environment, all AvePoint Cloud Governance features available for the commercial environment are available for you and your business users.

    • For a security group, distribution group, or mail-enabled security group that has been added to AvePoint Online Services, the following users cannot sign in to AvePoint Cloud Governance:

      • The owner of the distribution group or mail-enabled security group.

      • If the security group has nested groups and the owner of a nested group is not a member of any other groups that have been added to AvePoint Online Services, the nested group owner cannot sign in to AvePoint Cloud Governance.

    • To sign in to the modern Cloud Governance admin center, ensure that you have been assigned the appropriate User Roles for AvePoint Cloud Governance and sign in using your Microsoft credentials.

      Other accounts, such as local accounts, Salesforce accounts, and Google accounts are not supported for signing into the modern admin center.

    • If you do not have an available subscription for the Cloud Management service, you cannot use the classic admin center after clicking the classic Cloud Governance admin center link in the modern admin center home. You can go back to the modern admin center or go to the service store in AvePoint Online Services to start a free trial on the Cloud Management service first.
