Use Metadata

To use metadata in a dynamic service, you can:

    • Add metadata to an individual service or to the main flow of a dynamic service, which will be available to business users when they submit a request for this service. You can choose whether to add this metadata to the workspace after adding the metadata to a service. If unchecked, this metadata will only be used as a condition in the request form.

    • Inherit the value of previously added metadata labeled with Previous metadata and add it to the workspace created in an individual provisioning service or the guest user invited by an Invite guest user service. Business users will not need to repeatedly configure the same metadata in a request.

Inheriting previous metadata value is supported for the following services in the dynamic service main flow:

      • Create distribution group service

      • Create mail-enabled security group service

      • Create Microsoft 365 Group service

      • Create security group service

      • Create equipment mailbox service

      • Create room mailbox service

      • Create shared mailbox service

      • Create site collection service

      • Create team service

      • Create Viva Engage community service

      • Invite guest user service

    • Use metadata that you’ve already added in the previous steps as the condition in a Condition control or Switch control.

    • Use the value of metadata, which you’ve already added in the previous steps, as the parameter value when configuring a custom condition.
