#What's New in the Modern Cloud Governance Admin Center?

• The following dynamic service updates are available in Management > Dynamic services:

  • Added the Change Viva Engage community profiles service to allow business users to request to change Viva Engage community contact election profiles, external sharing profiles, renewal profiles, and storage management profiles.

  • Added the Change Viva Engage community settings service to allow business users to request to change the community name, description, privacy, classification, sensitivity label, Exchange global address list, and Outlook experience settings.

  • Added the Viva Engage community lifecycle management service to allow business users to request to delete a community.

  • Change ownership or membership service – IT administrators can now configure whether to allow requesters to add or remove dynamic membership rules separately, facilitating flexible management of group and team memberships.

  • The Change contact and Change metadata services now allow business users to change contacts or metadata for hybrid objects in the request form, including security groups, mail-enabled security groups, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes.

  • Once the Change metadata service inherits settings from the Change site settings service, business users can change the metadata for the group, team, or community associated with the site.

  • Create shared mailbox service – When IT administrators choose to let business users manually enter the shared mailbox email address, they can now specify the domain by selecting from a SharePoint list or Lookup metadata.

  • The Extension attribute and Custom Microsoft Entra property categories are now available when defining dynamic membership rules in the following dynamic services:

    • Create Microsoft 365 Group

    • Create team

    • Create Viva Engage community

    • Change ownership or membership

  • In the Manage permissions service, if objects with excluded permissions are configured to be shown in the request form, IT administrators can now choose whether these excluded permissions can be removed or displayed as read-only for business users in the Manage permission levels setting.

  • The new Requester belongs to associated group condition has been added to the following dynamic services, which ensures the accurate identification of a site's default Owners, Members, and Visitors groups, even if their names no longer match the site due to a site name change:

    • Change contact

    • Change library settings

    • Change metadata

    • Change site collection profiles

    • Change site settings

    • Manage permissions

    • Site collection lifecycle management

• The following profile updates are available in Management > Profiles & templates:

  • The Cc field is now available for adding email notification recipients when using a separate email template for the reminder date in Reminder profiles.

  • IT administrators can efficiently refine and filter Lookup metadata based on predefined criteria when configuring Metadata profiles.

  • The following options are now available in Team renewal profiles:

    • Allow private/shared channel renewal task assignees to reassign the task to others during the renewal process.

    • Allow team renewal task assignees to assign the task to channel members during the renewal process.

    • Enable private/shared channel sharing link renewal to allow the private/shared channel renewal task assignee to modify the channel sharing link during the renewal process.

  • When permission renewal is enabled in site collection, Microsoft 365 Group, team, or community renewal profiles, IT administrators can now allow renewal task assignees to renew objects matching specific risk information in the SharePoint permissions renewal process to enable better risk control.

  • If the owner or administrator of a Microsoft 365 Group or site collection changes, any modern group/site collection renewal task assigned to the $Object admin role is now automatically reassigned to the new group owner/site administrator.

  • To allow renewal task assignees decide whether to apply a team archiving profile before teams are archived in the renewal process, when configuring the team renewal profile, enable team membership and team site permission changes before team Microsoft 365/Opus Archiving and include None in the team archiving profile selections.

  • The membership of any Loop workspace created from a team's channel is dynamically synchronized with the team itself. Adding or removing members during the team renewal process will automatically update their access to the associated Loop workspace.

• Loop workspace management is now available in Cloud Governance, offering the following capabilities and reporting options:

  • Automated escalation profile – Automatically trigger escalation actions for Loop workspaces when Loop workspace management tasks are not completed within a specific period.

  • Renewal profile – Periodically review and update Loop workspace contacts, sensitivity labels, permissions, and metadata.

  • Limit access profile – Configure how Loop workspace membership is managed when Loop workspace access restrictions apply.

  • Loop report – View and manage all Loop workspaces in your organization.

  • Contact membership – Configure whether to automatically add primary and secondary contacts as Loop workspace owners or editors in System settings > Contact membership.

• Workspaces manually imported into the Modern Cloud Governance Admin Center can now be registered with AvePoint Online Services according to auto scan profiles.

• Cloud Governance now integrates with AvePoint Opus to enable automated and policy-driven archiving of Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Groups. With an available subscription for Opus, IT administrators can enable the Opus Archive lifecycle management action in the following services and profiles, allowing Microsoft 365 Groups and teams to be archived via Opus based on lifecycle events or through renewal processes:

  • Microsoft 365 Group lifecycle management service

  • Team lifecycle management service

  • Automated escalation profile for Microsoft 365 Group

  • Automated escalation profile for team

  • Microsoft 365 Group renewal profile

  • Team renewal profile

• The Global system settings have been migrated to the Modern Admin Center with support for new date and time formats. IT administrators can define the default date and time formats or choose to have them follow the browser or Teams app settings of business users, who can then personalize the date and time format within their personal settings.

• The Site Information Card App has been upgraded to version 2.0.0.3 for the commercial production, Microsoft 365 US Government GCC, Microsoft 365 US Government GCC High, and 21Vianet production environments. This upgrade includes performance improvements. For instructions on upgrading to the new version, see the Upgrade to New App Version section in Manage Site Information Card.

• IT administrators can now customize the new MyHub experience by adding your company logo and color scheme in the General settings of the MyHub Admin Center for a more personalized, branded experience.

• The Classic Admin Center redirection link on the Modern Admin Center homepage is now hidden from new customers.

#What's New in the End User Portal?

• Loop workspace owners can now review and modify Loop workspace contacts, sensitivity label, permissions, and metadata via Loop workspace renewal tasks.

• If enabled by the IT administrator, business users can now archive Microsoft 365 Groups and Microsoft Teams via Opus for lifecycle management during the Microsoft 365 Group and team lifecycle management services, and the Microsoft 365 Group and team renewal processes.

• In Tasks and to-dos of the new MyHub experience, channel management tasks assigned to a business user are now grouped under their parent team to provide a clear task view, and team management tasks will be pending until all its channel tasks are completed.

• Business users can now specify channel members as additional channel task assignees during the team renewal process.

• Business users can now customize the date and time formats used within their Cloud Governance portal in Personal settings.
