AvePoint Online Services modern APIs now support retrieving scan job information using the autodiscovery.readwrite.all permission. This update provides deeper visibility into scan activity, enabling more effective management and analysis of job data.
Auto discovery notification setting can be configured to include job reports as email attachments. To enable this feature, navigate to Administration > Notification > Auto discovery notification, select the Finished with exception status and the Attach the job report to the email option, and save your changes.
In User management, the Customized administrator role can now be configured for users. Customized administrators can have the Management, Auto discovery, and Administration permissions assigned, and will only have access to the functions aligned with their assigned permissions. When customized administrators access each cloud service, their permissions are the same as the service administrators.
If your organization has the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription with multi-geo capabilities, mappings can now be configured for the following Microsoft 365 geo locations: Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and Taiwan. To configure this, go to Administration > Data center mappings.
If your organization has an active subscription for Cloud Governance or EnPower, the User properties option appears in the left navigation pane in AvePoint Online Services. To use this feature for importing user properties, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
An app profile must be configured for one of the following types:
Cloud Governance for Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 (All permissions)
EnPower for Microsoft 365
Custom app with any of the following Microsoft Graph API permissions: Files.ReadWrite.All, Sites.Read.All, or Sites.ReadWrite.All
A CSV file must be prepared with the user properties to be imported. The CSV file must meet the following requirements:
The UPN (User principal name) is mandatory as the first column.
Each column represents a property name.
There are no duplicate users and properties.
Upload the CSV file to a certain site and ensure that the file is accessible via a sharing link.
Service administrators and application administrators can configure the settings to import user properties from the CSV file, schedule daily imports, and assign friendly names to the imported user properties.
The Data Resiliency dashboard now is available for organizations using Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365. This dashboard provides reports on a Microsoft tenant’s purchased workspaces, consumed storage capacity, and storage usage history.
The Optimization & ROI dashboard now includes the License assignment and inactivity report for Cense users. This report offers full visibility into license assignments and checks for inactive users.
Coming soon: On the AI Confidence and Risk Posture dashboards, the data source for Inactive workspaces and Ownerless workspaces will be changed from Cloud Governance to EnPower. Organizations with a subscription to EnPower now can view the sample data.
The following apps have API permission updates:
The Cloud Governance for Microsoft 365 service app now includes the UnifiedPolicy.Tenant.Read application permission to support retrieving sensitivity labels in your organization.
The Insights for Microsoft 365 service app now includes the Exchange.ManageAsApp application permission to support auto-syncing of Microsoft 365 sensitive info types.
The EnPower for Microsoft 365 service app now includes the UserAuthenticationMethod.ReadWrite.All and Policy.ReadWrite.AuthenticationMethod application permissions for users’ MFA management.
If your organization has configured app profiles for any of the service apps above, navigate to AvePoint Online Services > Management > App management to re-authorize the app profiles. This will apply the new API permissions and enable access to the related features.
*Note: Reauthorization is only required if you want to use the new features. Existing functionalities will remain unaffected if no action is taken.
If your organization uses Fly and wants to perform migrations for Microsoft Entra ID, app profiles can now be configured for the following types:
Fly for Entra ID source
Fly for Entra ID source and destination
Simplified the steps for consenting to the Document Management System Online (DMS Online) service app. If your organization uses Document Management System Online, you can now consent directly to the DMS Online service app and you no longer need to first consent to the AvePoint Online Services app.
When configuring scan profiles for the SharePoint site or Project site objects, the Scan archived site collections toggle allows you to control whether archived sites are included. The Scan archived site collections option is disabled by default, if there are archived sites scanned to your tenant’s containers before this release, AvePoint Online Services will remove those archived sites from containers based on the default rule.
Auto discovery now supports scanning No access sites into containers. These sites will be newly scanned and added according to the rules defined in your scan profiles.
In Auto discovery > Scan profiles, when configuring an advanced mode scan profile with the Specified objects in one container rule selected for containers, you can now set conditions to filter objects based on the following criteria:
For OneDrive, SharePoint site, Microsoft 365 Group / Microsoft Team / Viva Engage community, or Project site objects, use the Site status criterion and set the Equals / Does not equal condition to filter sites with/without the Locked (No access) status.
For Power App, Power Automate, or Copilot Studio objects, use the Owner > Type criterion and set the Equals condition to filter objects owned by System or User.
