General Updates

  • The AvePoint Tenant Management app now is the only app supporting the Google account sign-in method. Before connecting your Google tenant, ensure that you have installed the AvePoint Tenant Management app from the Google Workspace Marketplace.

  • In the subscription of Cloud Governance, the Power Apps Management module now is renamed to Cloud Governance for Power Platform.

  • If your organization has the subscription for Cloud Records, the ReCenter portal is now available for your organization.

  • The Policies for Microsoft 365 service app has been updated to add the Exchange.ManageAsApp Office 365 Exchange Online API permission to support managing Exchange Online mailboxes. After you authorize the app profile for the Policies for Microsoft 365 service app to add the new permission and assign the Exchange Administrator role to the app, you can now configure auto discovery scan profiles to scan Exchange mailboxes with the app profile.

  • If your Microsoft tenant uses Fly to perform migrations and the Microsoft tenant has been removed from AvePoint Online Services after the migrations complete, AvePoint Online Services can now calculate the number of assigned user seats when the Microsoft tenant is removed and include these user seats into the total assigned user seats for charging.

  • If your organization uses Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 and wants to protect Planner data, you no longer need to configure a delegated app with the Protect Planner data permission. When you re-authorize an existing delegated app and deselect the Protect Planner data permission, a message prompt will appear to notify you that the Protect Planner data permission is no longer supported.

  • The AvePoint Online Services production environment for the U.S. Government Public Sector now supports the Google account sign-in method.

  • If your organization has the subscription for Cloud Records, in Administration > Report data collection, you can now enable the collection for Data in Microsoft 365.

What’s New in Auto Discovery?

  • If your organization uses Fly and has configured an app profile of the Fly migration for Google app type in AvePoint Online Services > App management, you can now go to Auto discovery to configure a scan profile for the Google user object type. Running this scan profile will scan Gmail and Drive data into containers.

  • If your organization has purchased the Google Classroom module in the subscription for Cloud Backup for Google Workspace, you can now configure an auto discovery scan profile to scan contents under the Google Classroom object type.

  • In Auto discovery > Scan profiles, when you configure an advanced mode scan profile for Power Platform objects, with the Specified objects in one container rule set for each object type, you can now customize the following criteria:

Object typeCriteria
EnvironmentDisplay nameCreator’s email address
ConnectionDisplay nameCreator’s email address
Power AppEnvironmentDisplay nameOwner’s email address
