General Updates

  • The new cloud service Cloud Backup for Azure is now available in AvePoint Online Services in preview mode. It has been deployed to the following data centers:

    • Australia Southeast (Victoria)

    • East US (Virginia)

    • North Europe (Ireland)

You can get a 30-day trial license when you sign up for AvePoint Online Services or in the AvePoint Online Services Store. To use the Cloud Backup for Azure service for your organization, users must first be added as AvePoint Online Services users in User Management and assigned permissions for the service, and app profiles must be configured in App Management to connect to your tenant.

  • The Policies for Microsoft 365 and Insights for Microsoft 365 services have been deployed to the AvePoint Online Services insider environment. If you want to access the AvePoint Online Services insider environment to experience the previewed features, contact your AvePoint account manager to request access.

  • If your organization uses the Fly service to perform Microsoft Teams Chat migrations, you can now configure Auto Discovery scan profiles to scan Microsoft 365 Users and view the Microsoft Teams Chat module in License Information.

  • If your organization uses the Confide service, in AvePoint Online Services > User Management, you can now add users with the Local User sign-in method and allow them to access Confide.

  • The Confide service has been deployed to the following data centers:

    • Australia Southeast (Victoria)

    • Southeast Asia (Singapore)

What’s new in App Management?

  • If your tenant is using the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 service to protect Microsoft Planner data, you can now go to App Management to configure an app profile for a Microsoft delegated app with the assigned permissions. After the delegated app profile has been created, go to Auto Discovery, and add the delegated app profile to a scan profile which uses the app profile authentication method and includes Microsoft Teams in the scan scope.

  • If your organization uses the Fly service, before performing Microsoft Teams Chat migrations, go to App Management to configure an app profile for a Microsoft delegated app with the Fly permission assigned. The delegated app profile will be used to restore user chat messages in Microsoft Teams Chat migrations.

  • If your organization uses Policies for Microsoft 365 or Insights for Microsoft 365, you can now go to App Management to configure a service app which only requests permissions for using the service. To use an app profile for a service app, you need to apply the app profile to the related scan profile in Auto Discovery.

  • The following AvePoint apps have been updated to add the Microsoft Graph API permissions that are required by the services working with Microsoft Teams:

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Azure

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Office 365

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for SharePoint

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Exchange Online

If your tenant is using the apps above, you need to reauthorize the apps in AvePoint Online Services > App Management.

  • The following AvePoint apps have been updated to add the Microsoft Graph API permissions that replace the Azure Active Directory API permissions:

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Azure

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Office 365

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for SharePoint

    • AvePoint Online Services Administration for Exchange Online

If your tenant is using the apps above, you need to reauthorize the apps in AvePoint Online Services > App Management.
