#AvePoint Online Services January 2018

• Governance Automation Online is now called AvePoint Cloud Governance.

• AvePoint Cloud Backup with the capacity based license model requires a license with enough capacity for all protected Office 365 objects. If the total capacity of your Office 365 objects protected by AvePoint Cloud Backup exceeds the capacity you purchased, the service will be regarded as out-of-policy, and AvePoint Online Services will display the information icon on the upper-right corner in the service tile on the homepage. If the out-of-policy status lasts for seven days, notification e-mails will be sent to Service Administrators. To increase the capacity, contact your Sales representative. To decrease the consumed capacity, modify the backup scope that has been protected by the service.

• Dynamic Object Registration does not support using the app profile authentication method to scan Project Online site collections. If the scan scope contains Project Online site collections and the app profile is selected as the authentication method, a pop-up window will appear reminding users to change the authentication method or remove Project Online site collections from the scan scope.

• The AvePoint Online Services Administration for Azure app has been updated and it requires the Read and write all users' full profiles permission. AvePoint Cloud Governance uses this permission to delete Office 365 users.

• The Manage Account Pool functionality was removed from the Office 365 Service Account page, and you can now find it on the left navigation panel by navigating to Management > Service Account Pool.

• On the dynamic object registration configuration page, you can view a detailed list of the app profile authentication method's feature and data limitations by clicking the App Profile Limitations link next to the Use an app profile option.

• The AvePoint Online Services Administration app requires the following additional permissions: Read and write managed metadata and Read and write user profiles. These permissions are used to back up and restore Managed Metadata Service. On the App Management page, the app profile for Office 365 with All permissions or SharePoint Online permissions will be highlighted if the app profile was created before January 21, 2018, and there is also a message displayed on the top reminding you to re-authorize the app.

• During the process of creating or editing a dynamic object registration profile, if you choose the app profile authentication method to scan objects, and the selected app profile with All permissions or SharePoint Online permissions was created before January 21, 2018, a pop-up window will appear for re-authorizing the app generated by the selected app profile. You must click Re-authorize to re-authorize the app since the app has been updated and requires additional permissions. The additional permissions include Read and write managed metadata and Read and write user profiles, and they are used to back up and restore Managed Metadata Service.

• Dynamic Object Registration supports using the app profile authentication method to scan and manage SharePoint Online site collections and Office 365 groups.
