General Updates

  • In Auto Discovery, when you configure a scan profile in the advanced mode to scan SharePoint Sites, you can now set Hub Site Name rules to scan Hub sites into containers.

  • If you are a new customer signing up for AvePoint Online Services and you receive the confirmation email in your corporate email address, you will need to click the link in the email to complete your account activation within one day.

  • When new customers sign up for AvePoint Online Services and start a 30-day trial subscription for the Cloud Governance or Entrust service, they can now choose whether to include Power Apps or Power Platform module in the subscription.

  • AvePoint Online Services now supports TLS 1.3.

  • When configuring an app profile, the account used to authorize the app profile will no longer be automatically added to a tenant in AvePoint Online Services.

  • Based on the Entrust features used by your tenant, if your tenant's service account profile requires User Administrator or Password Administrator role, you can now assign the required roles to the Microsoft 365 user specified in the service account profile.

  • If you are a service provider and manage your customers via the Elements for Partners portal, you can now go to the Elements for Partners portal to export user activity reports of specific products. The exported report contains the following columns: Operation, Operated By, Operation Time, Product, and Customer.

  • If your organization uses Entrust and requires agents to be installed on local machines for Hybrid Agent Management, you can now go to AvePoint Online Services > Agent Management and click Download Agent Package to download the agent package.

  • For new customers of Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365, the Power Automate and Power BI modules will not be included in their subscriptions by default. You can reach out to your sales representative to request a trial or purchase this capability. All trial subscriptions granted through this preview will expire on April 30th, 2023.

New API Permissions Required by Apps

  • If your organization uses the Cloud Governance service and wants to provision shared mailboxes / distribution lists / mail-enabled security groups, you can now configure an app profile for the Cloud Governance for Exchange service app.

  • The following AvePoint apps have been updated to add the API permissions which are newly required by the corresponding cloud services:

    • The Insights for Microsoft 365 service app has been updated to add the following API permissions required by the new feature, which will report risky users and risky events: IdentityRiskyUser.ReadWrite.All and IdentityRiskEvent.Read.All.

    • The Entrust for Microsoft 365 service app has been updated to add the user_impersonation API permission required by the feature of managing Teams policies.

If your tenant uses the apps above, you need to reauthorize the apps in AvePoint Online Services > App Management.
