General Updates

  • If your organization uses Entrust, you can now configure scan profiles in Auto Discovery to scan Power Platform objects, including Environments, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Both service account profile authentication and app profile authentication methods are supported to scan Power Platform objects. If using the service account profile authentication method, the account must have the Microsoft 365 Global Administrator role. If using the app profile authentication method, you must first go to App Management to configure a delegated app profile with the permissions required by Entrust.

  • If your organization's Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription has enabled multi-geo capabilities, to ensure new geo locations in your Microsoft 365 tenant will be supported by AvePoint data centers around the world, you can now go to Auto Discovery > Data Center Mappings to manually add mappings between Microsoft 365 geo locations and AvePoint data centers. Before you configure mappings, ensure your tenant has configured a service account profile or an app profile. To configure data center mappings, you must complete Step 1: Configure Mappings for Microsoft 365 Geo Locations and Step 2: Define Central Locations in Microsoft 365 Tenants. The saved mappings cannot be changed and they will be used to create boundaries between different geo locations in your environment.

  • If your organization's Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription has enabled the Backup Data E-discovery capability, this update can now be displayed in Subscription Information.

  • The Cloud Backup for Azure service is now available in the following data centers: Canada Central (Toronto), Germany West Central (Frankfurt), West Europe (Netherlands), and UK South (London).

  • If your organization uses Cloud Backup for Azure but doesn’t have a service account profile or a Microsoft 365 app profile, you can now configure a Cloud Backup for Azure service app for user invitations in AvePoint Online Services.

  • If your organization's Fly enterprise subscription has the Enable Tenant Discovery capability, this update can now be displayed in Subscription Information.

  • The AvePoint Online Services commercial production environment now supports signing in with Microsoft 365 US Government GCC accounts.

What’s new in App Management?

  • The AvePoint FLY app has been updated to add the following Microsoft Graph API application permissions: TeamsTab.Read.All, TeamsTab.Create, Schedule.ReadWrite.All, and Reports.Read.All.

  • If your organization uses Entrust, to scan Power Platform objects with the app profile authentication method, you must first go to App Management to configure an app profile for a delegated app with the permissions required by Entrust.

  • If your organization uses Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365, the AvePoint Online Services Administration delegated app now requires the Microsoft Graph API delegated permission User.Read.All to protect Planner data. If your organization uses Fly, the AvePoint Online Services Administration delegated app now requires the following Microsoft Graph API delegated permissions for Teams migration: TeamsTab.Read.All, TeamsTab.Create, and Schedule.ReadWrite.All.

What’s new in Auto Discovery?

  • In Auto Discovery > Scan Profiles, job performance when running advanced mode scan profiles has been improved. The first job of running an advanced mode scan profile is a full scan job, while the later jobs can now be incremental scan jobs based on the objects' last modified time.

  • If your organization's Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription has enabled multi-geo capabilities, in Auto Discovery > Containers, when you view containers under the Microsoft 365 Users tab, you can now select the Geo Location view from the View By drop-down list.
