General Updates

  • The AvePoint Online Services announcements categories (including Service interruption, Environment updates, Additional configurations required, or Informational) can now be displayed in the announcements' email subjects.

  • In Administration > App registrations, you can now add client secrets to app registrations.

  • In Administration > General settings > Email settings, you can now change the email sender settings for Microsoft 365 tenants. This function currently supports AvePoint Online Services and Policies for Microsoft 365.

  • As Yammer has been renamed to Viva Engage, the related items in AvePoint Online Services have been updated.

  • In Management > User management, when you assign the Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS service to Tenant users, you can now assign the Standard user permission to users.

  • In Management > App management, when you select a Microsoft 365 tenant and select the Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS service, you can now choose the Custom mode method to configure an app profile for a custom app.

  • For organizations using the following apps to manage Microsoft 365 objects, you can now choose a consent method between Global Administrator consent and User consent when you re-authorize the related app profiles in AvePoint Online Services.

Before you choose the User consent method to re-authorize an app with a non-Global Administrator account, ensure that your organization has granted admin consent to the app in Microsoft Entra ID.

  • The names of AvePoint apps in Microsoft Entra ID have been updated to enhance the user experience in identifying AvePoint apps in your organization’s Microsoft environment. To apply the new name to an AvePoint app existing in your Microsoft Entra ID > Enterprise applications, you can re-authorize the related app profile in AvePoint Online Services > App management.

  • For organizations using the EnPower service, in Management > Agent management, you can now remove agents that are in the Inactive / Not installed status.

  • AvePoint Online Services now supports Microsoft Teams for customers in the data center operated by 21Vianet in China.

  • The Cloud Insights service is no longer available in Store / Free Trial.

AvePoint App API Permissions Updates

  • The Cense service app has been updated to add the Group.ReadWrite.All Microsoft Graph API permission to support managing group licenses. If your organization has configured an app profile for this service app, go to AvePoint Online Services > Management > App management to re-authorize the app profile to add the new API permission to the app.

What’s New in Auto Discovery?

  • Auto discovery now supports including orphaned OneDrive in scan profiles of OneDrive for Business. If your organization wants to scan orphaned OneDrive, first contact AvePoint representatives to turn on the switch in the backend. In an advanced mode scan profile, you can also configure the following conditions to define whether to scan orphaned OneDrive into a container:

  • In Auto discovery > Scan profiles, when you configure an advanced mode scan profile for Microsoft Teams, with the Specified objects in one container rule selected for containers, you can now set the following conditions to filter Teams:

  • You can now set conditions of the Organizational units criterion to scan users from specific organizational units. This can be done in Auto discovery > Scan profiles, when you configure an advanced mode scan profile to scan Google users, with the Specified objects in one container rule selected for containers.
