Recover Google Directory Data

Cloud Backup for Google Workspace provides the following ways to recover your Google Directory data:

    - Restore backup data to its original location. > ***Note** **the following**: - When restoring Users/Groups backup data, the system treats User ID / Group ID as the unique identifier of objects. - If a user was recently deleted from your Google environment and you performed a restore job with the **Skip**/**Merge** conflict resolution, the job would restore the user to the root organizational unit. After the restore, you can go to Google Admin to move the restored user to your desired organizational unit. - Export and download specific backup data.

To select the backup data that you want to recover, you can choose Search mode or Calendar mode:

    - **Search mode** – In this mode, you can search for users and groups by email addresses. - **Calendar mode** – In this mode, you can browse backup jobs via a calendar view, and then select your desired recovery points to drill down to the specific objects that you want to recover. In the **Calendar mode**, Administrators can add a large number of users/groups to a restore queue to perform a bulk restore.
