Export to PDFAvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® supports configuring the External ID of objects within the organization as the unique identifier in the restore process if the corresponding Record ID does not exist in the destination organization. Note that if the External ID field of a record is blank in the backup data, no records will match in the restore, and it will be created in the destination organization.
Complete the following steps to configure the External ID:
Navigate to Settings >General.
Click the External ID tab. All organizations that you manage are displayed.
Turn on the toggle next to the organization you desired, and the Configure External ID window appears.
Click Add.
In the Object column, select an object from the drop-down list.
In the External ID column, select an External ID field for the object from the drop-down list.
Repeat Steps 4 through 6 to add more objects and select External ID fields for them. To delete objects in the table, click the Delete icon under the Action column.
Click Save to save the configuration.
