    Configure Archive Deletion Settings

By default, the archive job moves data to the recycle bin, following its lifecycle until permanent deletion. With hard deletion enabled, data in the organization will be permanently deleted immediately during the archive job and bypass the recycle bin.

To successfully enable hard deletion for an organization, the authenticated user needs to be assigned a profile with the Bulk API Hard Delete permission in Salesforce. Refer to for detailed instructions.

Complete the following steps to enable hard deletion for the organization:

    1. Navigate to Settings > Security.

    2. Click Archive deletion. All organizations that you manage are displayed in the panel.

    3. Turn on the toggle next to the organization for which you want to enable the hard deletion. Note that hard deletion requires the Bulk API.

      • If the Bulk API is already enabled for the organization, hard deletion will be enabled when you turn on the toggle.

      • If the Bulk API is not enabled, the Enable hard deletion? window will appear. Click Configure Bulk API to enable Bulk API for the organization. For configuration details, refer to Configure Bulk API Usage. After configuring Bulk API usage, click Save to apply the settings. Then, turn on the toggle next to the organization again to enable the hard deletion.
