User Properties (EnPower and Cloud Governance)

With the subscription of Cloud Governance or EnPower, you can see the User properties option on the left navigation pane in AvePoint Online Services. Before you start to import user properties, note the following:

  • Ensure your tenant’s subscription to Cloud Governance or EnPower is working, and ensure that there is an app profile configured for any of the following types:

    • Cloud Governance for Microsoft 365

    • Microsoft 365 (All permissions)

    • EnPower for Microsoft 365

    • Custom app with any of the following Microsoft Graph API permissions: Files.ReadWrite.All, Sites.Read.All, or Sites.ReadWrite.All

  • Prepare a CSV file with the user properties to be imported. The CSV file must meet the following requirements:

    • The UPN (User principal name) is mandatory as the first column.

    • Each column represents a property name.

    • There are no duplicate users and properties.

    • Upload the CSV file to a certain site and ensure that the file is accessible via a sharing link.

Import User Properties

Service administrators and Application administrators can refer to the following instructions to import user properties:

  1. Navigate to System > User properties.

  2. Click User properties, and then click Custom.

  3. On the User properties > Custom page, click Import settings.

  4. The pane appears on the right, and you can configure settings by referring to the information below:

    • Enable import user properties – Turn this toggle on to activate the daily sync job, which will automatically import user properties according to the scheduled time. If the toggle is off, the daily sync job will be disabled.

    • Copy the link of the file to be imported and paste the link below – Copy the link of the prepared CSV file and paste the link into this field.

    • Daily sync time – To schedule a daily import of user properties from the CSV file, click the clock icon and set the desired time.

  5. Take one of the following actions based on your scenario:

    • If you want to save your configurations and import user properties immediately, click Save and import now.

    • If you want to save your configurations for importing user properties, click Save.

  6. The imported user properties will be listed in the table on the User properties > Custom page, and you can click on any property to view detailed values and the user count of each value. Clicking a value will open its list of user details.

  7. If you want to set a friendly name for a property, select the property and click Set friendly name. In the Set friendly name window, enter a friendly name and click Save.

Note the following:

  • Turning off the Enable import user properties toggle does not delete previously imported properties; they remain available in the table.

  • If you disable the Enable import user properties toggle while an import job is in progress, the current job will complete and its results will be displayed, but future daily sync jobs will be cancelled.

  • You can remove imported properties during an active sync job. Once the job finishes, any removed properties will no longer appear in the system.

Remove User Properties

If you want to remove the previously imported user properties, select the properties that you want to remove and click the Remove all button above the table.

In the confirmation window, click Confirm to confirm your action.
