#AvePoint Cloud Backup for Office 365 July 2020

• As AOS will keep the groupified sites in both SharePoint Online containers and Microsoft 365 Groups container, Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 can protect both in their corresponding backup jobs.

• For customers using Multi-Geo environment with default storage license, AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 allows customers to configure their own storage for specific regions while the others using default AvePoint storage.

• Reduced the number of subjobs for incremental backup by now filtering the objects with changes before starting the job process.

• Exchange Online backup job will split off the mailboxes for the next backup job, if the backup job has been running for a long time. You will be notified by e-mail in this case.

• If you own the BYOS license and use Azure storage, the backup data will be automatically stored to Cool tier to help save storage costs. The supported Azure account kinds are StorageV2 and BlobStorage of Standard performance type.

• There is now support for a hybrid approach for the backup and restore of Teams data. If you have configured both Service Account and App Profile, the backup and restore job will use App Profile as the default. For the data types that are unsupported in app context, the Service Account authentication method will be used.

• Added the Back up Private Channels option to the Backup Settings tab to allow users to choose whether to protect the private channels in Teams.

• There is now a lock icon displayed for Private Channel to differentiate this type of channel.
