General Updates

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 now supports a new data center, Qatar Central (Doha), expanding regional coverage and compliance options.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup now supports queue restore for Microsoft 365 Groups and Teams in Calendar mode. Additionally, you can perform batch imports via CSV for queue restore across Microsoft 365 Groups, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup introduces Demo mode, a safe, interactive environment with realistic sample data to showcase product capabilities.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup now supports restoring a SharePoint Online site collection to a different tenant with automated site creation and data transfer.

  • On the Restore page, AvePoint Cloud Backup now supports searching mailbox backup data by User Principal Name (UPN) in addition to email address.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup now supports bi-weekly email notifications for Coverage report summaries, including backup status, protected data size, and job details. You can enable this in Settings > Notification. Additionally, the Container column is now included in Coverage report, and the Object type column is available for Exchange Online.

  • Effective August 25, 2025, Microsoft discontinued usage charges for the Teams Export API (Model B) globally. After this date, no further billing events were registered and no client changes were required.   • Backup data e-discovery enhancements:

    • AvePoint Cloud Backup now supports full-text search for Exchange Online across all mailbox types (user, in-place archive, shared, and resource mailboxes). Enhanced filters include Source Service, CC, BCC, and options to exclude specific subjects or recipients, enabling more precise and comprehensive compliance searches.

    • Backup data e-discovery now supports higher search limits and clearer record visibility. To improve your limit, contact AvePoint Support.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup Express now supports Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo capabilities. For customers with Multi-Geo enabled, AvePoint Cloud Backup Express provides a regional-level storage consumption report. Note that the report currently only supports the central AOS location.

  • AvePoint Cloud Backup Express now supports Data subject access requests. You can discover and delete backup data for mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint sites from backup storage and track deletion progress.

  • The following two permissions have been added to the Cloud Backup Express service app. To use the Data subject access requests feature, navigate to AvePoint Online Services > App management to re-authorize the app first.

    • BackupRestore-Configuration.ReadWrite.All (Delegated permission)

    • BackupRestore-Control.ReadWrite.All (Application permission)

ReCenter for Microsoft 365

  • ReCenter is now available in the Qatar Central (Doha) and GCP for East US (Moncks Corner) data centers.

  • File and email preview capabilities:

    • The preview function is now supported for Group mailbox items.

    • Email preview will now open in a pop-up window instead of a new browser tab.

    • On the email or file preview page, you can now download it with a password or print it directly.

  • ReCenter now supports folder-level content restore for OneDrive backup data, in addition to document-level restore.
