The following new features and improvements are made to the new experience of the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365:
The new experience of Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 and the backup and restore service for Power BI, and Power Automate are now generally available. The Preview tag has been removed. You can continue using the Power BI service and the Power Automate service through April 30, 2023. Please contact your AvePoint representative to purchase the subscription before then and we will extend your subscription and preserve the backup data developed through the Preview program.
If you want to use the default storage hosted by AvePoint, you can now choose to use the Amazon S3 storage type as well as the Microsoft Azure Storage type when purchasing Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365.
The Back up shared channels feature in the Settings > Backup page is now generally available, and the backup for the shared channels now uses the Microsoft Graph v1 version API.
By default, the HSM restore method is now enabled to improve the speed of large-scale data recoveries. If you want to disable it, contact AvePoint support for assistance. For additional details on the HSM restore method, refer to the user guide.
If you signed up to AvePoint Online Services with the data center "Southeast Asia (Singapore)" and you have purchased the subscription to use AvePoint default storage to store the backup data, then you can choose the storage region for your AvePoint default storage from Southeast Asia (Singapore) and Qatar Central (Doha) when you sign into the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 interface for the first time.
In the Settings > End-user restore page, you can now choose to enable or disable the Restore action of a specific service for ReCenter and AVA users.
If you want to exclude specific file types from backup by filtering file extensions, you can contact AvePoint support for assistance. This feature works for the backup of SharePoint Online sites, OneDrive for Business, Project Online sites, and the sites of Microsoft 365 Groups, Teams, and Yammer communities.
As OneDrive for Business service has switched to using the Graph API for backup and restore jobs using the backup data generated by the Graph API will not send the sharing email notifications to users when restoring the content with security, the restore setting "Would you like to restore sharing permissions?" is now removed, and the sharing permissions will be restored by default. If you do not want to restore the sharing permissions, you can choose to restore the content only.
If a backup service has an ongoing backup job, the job progress will be displayed at the bottom of its service tile. In the center of the service tile, you can find the backup job status of its last backup job.
In Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365, the administrator can now configure end-user restore settings to control whether to allow end-users to recover backup data from ReCenter.
In ReCenter, you can now view updated Restore and Export buttons on interfaces.
