AvePoint Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 March 2022

Release Date for the Commercial Environment: March 6, 2022

Release Date for the US Government Environment: March 13, 2022

    • Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 supports configuring a data retention period that is less than one year.

    • When you are restoring a site collection (of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 Groups, Teams, or Yammer), a group, a team, or a community, you can now choose to restore the hub site connection for the site.

    • The Microsoft 365 Unusual Activities Analysis Report is now available to show the unusual activities detected in your OneDrive for Business backups. This report requires the OneDrive accounts to have at least 12 days of incremental backups with changes. It shows an overview of the unusual activities tracked over the last 30 days and provides a Restore option on that page to directly recover OneDrive account to a safe state.

    • By default, Cloud Backup uses V4 authentication to access your Amazon S3 Compatible storage. If you want to use V2 authentication, add SignatureVersion=V2 as an extended parameter when providing the storage information.

    • While we work with the latest technology from Microsoft, sometimes new features they announce require a little extra work to offer complete support. We will be intentionally excluding Shared Channels from Teams backups during this release to ensure no unexpected errors occur.
