The following new features and improvements are made to the new experience of the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365:
The Power Automate service is now available to protect the cloud flows. You can export the backup data of flows to a local location.
The Power BI service and the Power Automate service in the Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 new experience are currently the public preview version.
Consent from a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator is required when creating a delegated app profile and must be retained. However, the authentication user role can be decreased under the following conditions after the consent:
If you only use this delegated app to restore the Teams channel conversations as posts, the global admin role can be removed.
If you only use this delegated app to protect the Power BI content, the global admin role can be removed but the authentication user must have at least the Power BI admin role to proceed.
If you only use this delegated app to protect Power Automate, the global admin role can be removed as well but the authentication user must have at least the environment admin/environment system admin role and Power Platform admin role for Auto Discovery scan and the backup and restore.
In the new experience, you can customize the view of Backup and Restore page to choose to hide/show or adjust the display order of the service tiles.
The Microsoft 365 Unusual Activities Analysis report now can report for the team sites of the Microsoft 365 Groups and Teams.
When you click a backup service tile, the Backup details page for that service will appear. The display of the information on the Backup details page has been improved.
In the Job monitor of the new experience, the Operator column and Duration column are available now.
Through the Settings > End-user restore page in the new experience, administrators can decide whether the Group/Team owners or members can perform restore for Groups and Teams from ReCenter/AVA.
When you perform a site collection level restore for SharePoint Online, Project Online, Teams, Groups, or Yammer communities, you can choose to restore the global term store or site term store, or use the existing terms only for the managed metadata service. For the restore in the other cases, only the terms and their parents directly associated with the backup data can be restored, even though the options to restore the global term store or site term store are selectable. If you perform the restore from the legacy UI, both the global term store and site term store will be restored by default.
When restoring Teams data, the restore job will by default use the Team owner in the backup data for restore, and then use the app profile authentication user if there is no valid owner to use.
ReCenter now supports users to restore and preview backup data that is stored in IBM Spectrum Protect -S3 or IBM Cloud Object Storage.
In Data recovery, when users search for backup data to restore or export, they can now select all items in the search results by selecting the Select All checkbox at the top of the search results table.
In Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365, the administrator can now configure the end-user restore setting to control whether to allow Group/Team owners and members to restore data from ReCenter.
In Request history, when users click a Job ID to view job details, the View Details pane can now list items that have been restored/exported in the job.
In ReCenter, when users want to restore a file from OneDrive backup data, they can now preview the file before the restoration.
In Data recovery, when you click the Microsoft 365 Groups / Microsoft Teams tile to search for backup data to recover, the Group/Teams drop-down list can now list all Groups/Teams that you have joined as an owner or a member.
In Data recovery, the UI of the search results page has been improved.
