General Updates

  • You can now access Policies for Microsoft 365 directly by the product URL.

  • Modern authentication is now used by the service account profile for rules to manage SharePoint Online sites.

  • You can now see the detected violations in Reports > Violations.

What’s New on the Dashboard?

  • You can now see the policies that have rule settings required and scope unassigned in Incomplete Policies on Dashboard.

  • You can now view the number of compliant rules, non-compliant rules, fixed violations, and unfixed violations in Compliance Overview on the Dashboard.

What’s New with Tenant Level Rules?

  • You can now control whether users are allowed to send emails from aliases with the Control Sending Emails from Aliases rule.

  • You can now restrict users from creating the mail flow rule to skip spam filtering when receiving emails from specific domains with the Bypass Spam Filtering Rule Restriction rule.

  • You can now restrict users from auto-forwarding emails with the Automatic Forwarding Restriction rule.

  • You can now control whether users can use plus addressing to quickly create custom email addresses based on their standard email addresses with the Control Plus Addressing rule.

  • You can now choose whether to add tags to external emails in Outlook to help users identify emails from external senders with the Outlook External Email Tag Enforcement rule.

  • You can now set the duration for how long deleted items are retained in the Recoverable Item/Deletions folder with the Deleted Item Retention Enforcement rule.

  • You can now restrict the rich-text format in emails to prevent malformed emails from being sent to other users with the Rich-Text Format Restriction rule.

  • You can now sign emails with DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail) signatures for your domains to help recipients ensure the identity of senders with the DKIM Signature Enforcement rule.

  • You can now control whether to enable the focused inbox view for users with the Control Focused Inbox rule.

  • You can now restrict the use of legacy email protocols, including POP, SMTP, and IMAP protocols to prevent password spray attacks that may breach mailboxes in your tenants with the Legacy Email Protocols Restriction rule.

  • You can now control whether to allow users to sign in to shared mailboxes by their associated user accounts with the Shared Mailbox Sign-in Restriction rule.

  • You can now restrict the maximum size for messages sent and received by mailboxes with the Message Size Restriction rule.

  • You can now configure whether to monitor user permission for sites and site content with the Ghost Guest User Detection rule.
