    Before you start using AvePoint Cloud Backup for Dynamics 365 service, you must obtain an enterprise or trial subscription to AvePoint Cloud Backup for Dynamics and scan the organizations or environments into Cloud Backup.

    NOTE

    We offer a 30-day free trial for organizations which includes access to all functionalities.

    Follow these steps to set up Cloud Backup for Dynamics 365:

    1. Cloud Backup for Dynamics 365 supports scanning and protecting your Dynamics 365 CRM organizations or Power Platform using app profile or service account authentication. You can go to the Settings > Scan page to configure how you would like to scan and initialize organizations/environments the first time you access this product.

    2. Navigate to Settings > Scan on the Cloud Backup for Dynamics 365 interface to configure the scan settings. For details, refer to Scan Your Organizations or Environments.

    3. After you have onboarded the organizations or environments that you want to protect, enable the backup for each organization and environment, and configure the backup settings. For details, refer to Run the First Backup Job for Your Organization/Environment.

      NOTE

      Your administrators can now also add other user roles to access specific operations in Cloud Backup for Dynamics 365 and control their access permissions via the security groups through Settings > User management. For details, refer to User Management.

    4. To enable record owners to utilize IT-managed backups and audit logs for rolling back changes on records and fields directly from the Dynamics 365 product interface, you can install the End User Restore add-in that AvePoint offers in your Dynamics 365 organization.
