#Export Encryption Key

The backup data generated by AvePoint Cloud Backup is encrypted. When you export a copy of your backup data from your storage device, you will need an encryption key to help you convert the data to plain file format.

To generate and download the encryption key for the organization/environment that you have performed a backup, complete the steps below:

1. Go to Settings > General.

2. Click the Encryption key row.

3. Click the Generate button next to the organization/environment if this is the first time you are downloading the encryption key.

   

4. Click Download to save it to your local computer.

   NOTE

   If your backup for the organization/environment has been updated, you need to regenerate the encryption key. Click the Regenerate button and then download the ZIP file.
