Use Configuration Reports to oversee the settings and securities in your tenant for governance purposes.
Since the overall data to report about the tenant settings and securities are mostly too massive, Configuration Reports do not support displaying report data on the interface. You can create a report profile to export the reports in the schedule to a storage device or SharePoint document libraries. You can prepare an export location profile through Cloud Management > Control Panel to define the location to store the Configuration Reports to be exported. For details, refer to Create and Edit Export Locations.
To configure a report profile, you need to select the desired objects on the My Registered Sites data tree as the report scope. The objects you select can be containers, site collections, sites, or lists and libraries. You can also configure a filter policy to filter specific content in the report.
Since Configuration Reports must be exported and presented in an XLS or XLSX file, you must select a report format and select an export location where to export the reports. If you do not need e-mail notifications on report exportation, and the report exportation does not have to be a recurring event, you can directly go the step 5 on the interface to select the data types you want to report.
The data types that you can select to report are grouped into three levels: Site Collection, Site, and List. The available reporting levels are up to the objects you select in the report scope. For example, if you select a site as a scope, the Site Collection level settings are disabled. You can select all data types or choose specific data types at specific levels to report.
Go to Create a Report Profile section for detailed instructions on creating a report profile.
Go to Advanced Report Data Types section for the advanced data types that are supported in recent releases.
