FAQ

I have a file with broken version history. Does ReCenter support restoring a complete version history of a file?

- For the files archived in Cloud Archiving / AvePoint Opus, when you search and recover files in ReCenter, all archived versions of files can be recovered and you can also select desired versions to recover. When you recover files by clicking stubs, only the latest versions of files can be recovered. If a file has been deleted from the original location, you can select the archived data of the file and restore the latest version or desired versions of the file to the original location. If a file with the same name exists in the original location, a sequential number suffix (for example, **_1**) will be added to the name of the restored file. For example, when **File A** with broken history is in the original location and you select the archived data of **File A** to restore, the latest version of **File A** will be restored to the original location and the name of the restored file will be **File A_1**. **File A** remains in the original location. - For the files backed up in Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365, ReCenter supports you in restoring both the latest version and previous versions of files. If a file has been deleted from the original location, you can select the backup data of the file to restore the desired versions of the file to the original location. If a file with the same name exists in the original location and the last modified time of the file is different with the modified time of the backup data, the file in the original location will be kept, and the backup data of the file will be restored to the original location with a sequential number suffix (for example, _1) added to the file name. For example, when the **File** **B** lacking the version 1.0 is in the original location and you select the backup data of the **File** **B** version 1.0 to restore, the **File** **B** version 1.0 will be restored to the original location and the name of the restored file will be **File B_1**. The **File** **B** remains in the original location. ***Note:** For the OneDrive module, previous versions of files cannot be restored.
