General Updates

  • Support for the Qatar Data Region and the New Zealand Data Region is now available. Customers currently using AOS in North Europe (Ireland) can now use Qatar Central (Doha), and customers currently using AOS in Australia Southeast (Victoria) can now use New Zealand North (Auckland) as storage regions. Please contact your AvePoint Account Executive for more details.

  • The notification profile has been enhanced to allow users to attach the Azure virtual machine backup job report in email notifications.

  • New navigation updates are being rolled out across the Confidence Platform, delivering a more intuitive, consistent, and efficient user experience. In the left navigation pane of Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS, the Activity and System sections have been newly added. The Activity section includes Report center (renamed from Report) and Job monitor, and the System section includes Settings, System auditor, and Help.

  • A tooltip has been added to the "Configure full backup frequency" section to assist users in setting the full backup frequency when configuring a backup scope.

  • To provide users with a comprehensive overview of service subscription utilization, out-of-policy services will now be prominently tagged as "OOP" in the subscription consumption report.

  • On the job details page, in exported job reports, and the email notifications, objects or items that were previously tagged as "Failed" in the job process will now be updated to "Error".

What’s New in Virtual Machine

  • For the Azure Virtual Machine service, a new retention policy is now available when configuring backup scopes. You can specify the retention period for hourly, daily, and weekly recovery points.

  • When configuring backup scopes for virtual machines, the new Azure VMs/instances that meet the configured rule conditions will be automatically added to the backup scope.

  • The in-place restore of signed scripts in folders/files is now supported.

What’s New in Azure SQL

  • The Azure SQL Backup service is now generally available, allowing users to back up Azure SQL databases to AvePoint Storage. The subscription consumption report, backup analysis report, and account management settings for the service are supported.

  • The account management settings and backup analysis report for Native Azure SQL Backup Monitoring service are now available.

What’s New in Azure AD B2C

  • The Azure AD B2C service is now generally available for both trial and enterprise licenses. In this release, we will support the backup and restoration of users. The subscription consumption report and account management settings for the service will also be available.

What’s New in Azure DevOps

  • The Azure DevOps service now supports the backup and restoration of Pipelines.

  • Backup performance of the Azure DevOps service has been improved.

What’s New in Admin Portal Settings

  • The Admin Portal Settings service now supports comparing compliance policies and conditional access in Intune before restoration.

What’s New in Microsoft Entra ID

  • You can now restore users and groups to another location after comparison.

What’s New in Azure Storage

  • For the Azure Storage service, the number of processed folders in blob containers and file shares will now be displayed in job reports and email notifications.
