AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® February 2025

Release Date for the Commercial Environment: February 9, 2025

Release Date for the U.S. Government Environment: February 16, 2025

What’s New in Cloud Backup for Salesforce® Interface?

  • New navigation updates are being rolled out across the Confidence Platform, delivering a more intuitive, consistent, and efficient user experience. In the left navigation pane of Cloud Backup for Salesforce®, the Activity and System sections have been added. The Activity section includes Report center (renamed from Reporting) and Job monitor, and the System section includes Settings, System auditor, and Help.

  • Private Preview: The audit log backup and export feature is available in private preview. Additionally, you can now navigate to Data management > Data export to enable scheduled audit log export for your organizations.

  • Public Preview: The Salesforce archive feature is now available in public preview with the following enhancements:

    • Enterprise subscriptions for Salesforce Archive are now available, and you can view subscription consumption reports in the Report center.

    • When creating an archive policy, additional fields can now be used in Archive conditions, beyond the CreatedDate and LastModifiedDate. You can also use SOQL queries to filter records for archiving.

    • Organizations can now enable hard deletion in Settings > General > Archive deletion. This option will permanently delete data immediately during archive jobs, bypassing the recycle bin.

    • In master-detail relationships, archiving a parent (master) record will automatically archive all child (detail) records, even if they are not explicitly added as child objects in the archive policy.

  • The following improvements have been made to Data export:

    • When configuring one-time data exports, you can now select a date range for the backup data you would like to export.

    • When configuring scheduled data exports, you can now configure the Record scope to export all records from the current backup cycle or only records that were backed up since the last export job.

What’s New in AvePoint Cloud Backup App?

  • Users with the necessary permissions to configure named credentials and assign permission sets in the Salesforce environment can now configure security authentication to manage user access to the AvePoint Cloud Backup app.

  • In the AvePoint Cloud Backup app, users can view and restore records based on their permissions to the corresponding records and fields in the Salesforce environment.

  • You can now restore archived data directly in the AvePoint Cloud Backup app. Additionally, for archived records, custom components can be added to the widget on the record page, enabling users to unarchive related records directly.
