AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® January 2023

Release Date for the Commercial Environment: January 8, 2023

Release Date for the U.S. Government Environment: January 15, 2023

    • AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® has upgraded the user experience with new designs and enhanced features. You can toggle between the previous and new experiences on the interface.

    • The Security Profile in the legacy UI Settings page will be for read only. You can go to Settings > General > Encryption profile in the new experience to configure the encryption profile for each organization. You can only use the encryption profiles that have been created from the AvePoint Online Services interface.

    • The display language of the new experience will follow your browser's first preferred language setting.

    • In the new experience, you can now compare the metadata across organizations.

    • In the new experience, a notification center is available in the upper-right corner of the interface to display your subscription information.

    • In the new experience, when restoring records to the original organization, you can choose to restore the record from the recycle bin if the record with the same ID still exists in the recycle bin. The record ID will be kept after being restored.

    • In the new experience, you can restore the audit fields when restoring data to another location or for sandbox seeding.

    • In the new experience, when you configure an anonymization profile, you can now select Japanese to anonymize the sensitive information with random values in Japanese.

    • In the new experience, the Backup page will be automatically refreshed every 10 minutes and each time you navigate back to the Backup page. You can also click the Refresh button to manually retrieve the latest backup status for the organizations. However, the Job monitor page will not be automatically updated every 10 minutes. The information on Job monitor can be updated each time you navigate back to the Job monitor page, or you have to click the Refresh button to manually update the information.

    • In the new experience, the System auditor report will audit more event actions, such as the Save retention setting, Delete notification profile, Delete group, and Delete user mapping profile.

    • If the current user is in a trial subscription, the Subscription consumption report in the new experience will show a sample page.

    • In the new experience, the Submit feedback feature is displayed in the Help list, and you will be redirected to AvePoint Online Services to submit your feedback.

    • In the legacy UI Settings page, the Manage Accounts and the Data Monitor Alert features will be for read only. You must go to the new experience to configure the corresponding settings.

    • In both the previous and new experience, when configuring the data filter for the backup records to be seeded, the Select the count of backup records option is available. You can select this option and enter a number to seed the records recently generated in the backup data.

    • If you choose to use a self-signed SSL certificate on IBM Spectrum Protect - S3 storage server side, you can add the Allow_Insecure_SSL=true into the Extended parameters when configuring the IBM Spectrum Protect - S3 storage to bypass the certificate validation.

    • By default, AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® will use V4 authentication to access your Amazon S3 Compatible storage. If you want to use V2 authentication, add SignatureVersion=2 into the extended parameters.
