AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® December 2024

Release Date for the Commercial Environment: December 8, 2024

Release Date for the U.S. Government Environment: December 15, 2024

    • Private Preview: Cloud Backup for Salesforce® now supports data archiving to optimize your Salesforce storage usage. Archived data will be deleted from your Salesforce environment, but can be restored from Cloud Backup for Salesforce® when needed.

    • Private Preview: Cloud Backup for Salesforce® now supports the backup and export of audit logs. For more information and to enable this feature, contact the AvePoint support team.

    • In addition to supporting Bulk API 2.0, Cloud Backup for Salesforce® now also supports using the Bulk API for backups. Any backup containing more than 2,000 records is ideal for Bulk API and Bulk API 2.0. Administrators can enable both APIs in Settings > Advanced > Bulk API usage and configure their limitations as needed. For customers using these APIs, the percentage of API usage is displayed on the Reporting > Bulk API usage page, helping you manage your API consumption more effectively.

    • The AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® App has been redesigned to enhance the user experience. New features include the ability to search backup data across multiple objects and select multiple records for restoration. In addition, the app now supports the Japanese language.

    • When selecting metadata to restore, you can now view the parent metadata of the selected metadata.

    • Job status is now displayed at the beginning of the subject line in email notifications, allowing you to quickly identify the status of your jobs.

    • On the Job details page, you now have the option to run a Data cleanup job based on Discover job results, rather than just comparing and restoring them.

    • When configuring the data scope for sandbox seeding templates, you can now edit a selected object to filter records by field-level conditions, helping to narrow down the seeding scope. In addition, you can now configure a schedule for sandbox seeding templates to enable scheduled seeding.

    • You can now manually trigger a permission check for the authenticated user and configure settings for scheduled permission checks.

    • When restoring metadata, you can choose the option to Revert metadata to the backup version. By enabling this setting, AvePoint Cloud Backup for Salesforce® will restore the metadata to your destination organization and remove any newly added fields that were not included in the backup metadata file from the destination.

    • In the job recommendations provided by pre-restore and pre-seeding, fields for which the account connected to the Salesforce organization does not have Edit permission will be listed.

    • On the Discover page, you can now configure the Advanced field-level filter for objects to select specific fields to search for keywords.
