Permissions

    Permission groups include people in your organization that are responsible for Microsoft 365 user license management. There are two types of groups in AvePoint Cense:

    • Application administrators (built-in) group: The application administrators configured in AvePoint Online Services are in this group by default. Users in this group have full control permission and can use all functionalities. Except for group members, no other settings for this group can be edited.

    • Groups created in AvePoint Cense: The application administrators can create groups in AvePoint Cense by clicking Create a group in User management > Permissions. When creating a new group, the administrators can:

      • Edit group information, including group name, description, and adding users to this group.

      • Assign user containers to this group to manage.

      • Grant permissions to users in this group.

      • Overview of the group and save.

    • The group members can use AvePoint Cense to view license cost and license budget reports, view license reports, and manage licenses based on the permissions granted to them.

    Application administrators can grant the following permissions to License Management groups:

    • View and export reports:

      • Access user license report

      • Export user license report

      • Access group license report

      • Export group license report

      • View license unit cost report

      • View license budget report

    • Manage user licenses:

      • Change and unassign licenses

      • Manage group licenses
