Export to PDFAfter performing a security search, access Job Monitor to download a security search report in either of the following two ways.
To download a report from the Download Job Report page, complete the following steps:
Select the desired Security Search job.
Click Download Report from the Search Result drop-down list on the ribbon. The Download Job Report window appears.
On the Download Job Report page, complete the following steps.
Report Format – Select a report type from the corresponding drop-down box.
Export Settings – Select a downloading location type for storing the report.
Export to local immediately – Select this option to download the report to the local file system location of the currently used server.
Export to a specified export location – Select this option to download the report to the location on the specified server.
Export Location – Select an existing export location from the drop-down box to store the report before downloading. To create a new export location, select New Export Location in the drop-down list. For detailed instructions on how to create an export location, refer to Configure Export Locations.
After the configuration of the settings above, click OK to start the download operation.
To download a report from the Search Result Tools page, complete the following steps:
Select the desired Security Search job.
Click View Search Result from the Search Result drop-down list on the ribbon. The Search Result Tools page appears.
The Search Result Tools page displays the first 10,000 security search results. If you want to view all of the security search results, you can download a report through the Download Report feature.
Click Download Report on the ribbon. The Download Result window appears.
On the Download Result page, complete the following steps.
Report Format – Select a report type from the corresponding drop-down box.
Download Settings – Select a downloading location type for storing the report.
Export to local immediately – Select this option to download the report to the local file system location of the currently used server.
Export to a specified export location – Select this option to download the report to the location on the specified server.
Export Location – Select an existing export location from the drop-down box to store the report before downloading. To create a new export location, select New Export Location in the drop-down list. For detailed instructions on how to create an export location, refer to Configure Export Locations.
Notification – Select an existing notification profile from the drop-down box. A notification e-mail will deliver to the corresponding recipients.
After the configuration of the settings above, click OK to start the download operation.
If you select Export to a specified export location to download a report, an export report job will start. After the export report job finishes, the following files can be downloaded:
A security search report file named in the format of CASecuritySearchReport_JobID_Number.zip. If the security search results are large, Administrator will split the security search results into multiple report files, for example, CASecuritySearchReport_CA20180829152450214729_0000.zip, CASecuritySearchReport_CA20180829152450214729_0001.zip, etc.
A security search menu file named in the format of Administrator_SecuritySearchReportMenuFile_JobID.zip. You will find the following two columns in the extracted file: File Name which displays the name of each security search report file and Site Collection which displays the URL of each site collection stored in the corresponding security search report file.
If you want to edit the permissions of users/groups searched by a security job, you can use the Export for Editing feature under Search Result to export the permission configuration report file. Refer to Export for Editing for more information.
To export the permission configuration report of users/groups searched by a security job, complete the following steps:
In Job Monitor, select the desired Security Search job.
Click Export for Editing from the Search Result drop-down list on the ribbon. The Export for Editing window appears.
On the Export for Editing page, complete the following steps.
Report Format – XLSX is automatically selected as the default report format, and you can change it to XLS if required.
Export Type – Select a downloading location type for storing the report.
Export to local immediately – Select this option to download the report to the local file system location of the currently used server.
Export to a specified export location – Select this option to download the report to the location on the specified server.
Export Location – Select an existing export location from the drop-down box to store the report before downloading. To create a new export location, select New Export Location in the drop-down list. For detailed instructions on how to create an export location, refer to Configure Export Locations.
Notification – Select an existing notification profile from the drop-down box. A notification e-mail will deliver to the corresponding recipients.
After the configuration of the settings above, click OK to start the download operation.
Then you can edit the permissions in the downloaded permission configuration report file. Pay attention to the following information of the Change column in the file:
Add – This means you want to add a new user/group to specific object.
Add a new row for the new user/group.
Enter the corresponding information of the user/group in the User/Group, Display Name, and Account Type columns.
Enter the permission level for the user/group in the Permission Level column.
Select Add in the Change column.
When configuring other column values to define which object you want to add the user or group, make sure the information is consistent with the object in SharePoint.
Modify – If you select Modify for an existing user/group, you can modify the Permission Level column value of the user/group.
Delete – If you select Delete for an existing user/group, this means you want to remove the user/group from the object.
Inherit – If you select Inherit for an existing user/group that does not inherit permissions from the parent, this means you want to recover the permission inheritance for the user/group.
After finishing editing the permissions in the report file, you can use the Import Configuration File feature to import the updated permissions.
