Create a Baseline

Refer to the following sections to create a baseline.

From the Baselines Page

Refer to the following steps to create a baseline from the Baselines page:

  1. On the Baselines page, click Create baseline in the upper-right corner of the page.

  2. In the Basic Information step, complete the following information:

    • Baseline name – Enter a unique name for this baseline.

    • Description – Enter an optional description.

    • Source tenant – Select the tenant you want to use as the source for the baseline. Elements will only retrieve the supported configurations from this tenant to generate the baseline. For the supported configurations, refer to Supported Baseline Configurations.

      Tenants displayed on the Tenants page are displayed, and you can search for a tenant by the tenant name. Tenants with the Expired status will not appear in the list.

    • Baseline color – Select a color for this baseline.

      You can define a color for each baseline according to its priority, making it easier to identify the priority of each baseline wherever the color appears.

  3. Click Next.

  4. In the Configurations step, all configurations from the source tenant are displayed and selected. If there are configurations that you do not want to include in the baseline, deselect the checkbox next to it.

  5. Click Next.

  6. In the Preview step, preview the information and make updates if needed.

  7. Click Create to create the baseline. The baseline will be created with a draft version.

From the Tenants Page

Refer to the following steps to create a baseline from the Tenants page:

  1. On the Tenants page, select the tenant you want to use as the source for the baseline, and click Create baseline from tenant.

  2. In the Basic Information step, complete the following information:

    • Baseline name – Enter a unique name for this baseline.

    • Description – Enter an optional description.

    • Baseline color – Select a color for this baseline.

      You can define a color for each baseline according to its priority, making it easier to identify the priority of each baseline wherever the color appears.

  3. Click Next.

  4. In the Configurations step, all configurations from the source tenant are displayed and selected. If there are configurations that you do not want to include in the baseline, deselect the checkbox next to it.

  5. Click Next.

  6. In the Preview step, preview the information and make updates if needed.

  7. Click Create to create the baseline. The baseline will be created with a draft version.

Publish Draft Version

You can publish the draft version when no further edits are needed. On the Baselines page, select the baseline, click Publish, and then click OK in the pop-up confirmation message.
